The 2023-24 college basketball season is fastly approaching and the latest projections from ESPN have spotlighted Western Kentucky's Dontaie Allen.

In an October 5 article predicting all 32 D-I conferences preseason player's of the year, ESPN staff writer Myron Medcalf picked the former Pendleton County star and 2019 Mr. Basketball recipient as the player who will stand out amongst the rest within Conference-USA.

Medcalf wrote "In February and March, the former Kentucky guard began to hit his stride, seeing four games with 17 points or more. That momentum could propel Allen (9.3 ppg, 38 percent from the 3-point line) into new heights under new head coach Steve Lutz.

Allen, now a redshirt senior, and his WKU Hilltoppers teammates are slated to begin play on November 9 when they'll host Kentucky Wesleyan at E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green.
