    The coutnryside and roads of Pendleton County will be filled with activity as the Pendleton Coumty Tourism celebrates the varied outdoor activities in Pendleton County.
    The day hits the ground running with the 30th Annual Daniel Boone run for Statehood from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. through the streets of Falmouth. Check the story on page 3 for more information.
    You can swim, play golf or fish at Kincaid Lake State Park from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    Joey Wells Memorial Kids Fishing Tournament will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Meet near the swimming pool at Kincaid Lake State Park for sign-up at 8 a.m. Only thing the kids need to bring is a fishing pole, tackle, bait and must be with an adult.
    The Spicebush Trail is located at Kincaid Lake State Park by the putt putt golf/basketball court area. It is a one mile and can be strenous with some hills and holes/roots to contend.
    The Ironwood Trail is located in the same area at Kincaid Lake State Park and 1.5 miles in length. It can be strenous with some hills but is very pretty as it winds around a creek.

    At 9 a.m., join our resident nature expert Barth Johnson as he takes you on a guided hike along the South Fork River. This trail is diverse. You will get some great views of the river, see some wildlife…and you may even catch families fishing and enjoying the dam area near Hwy 27 N.
    A free event is the Red Barn Farm Museum where Herman Schack shares his collection of antique machinery and tools. It is located at 146 Ball Rd., Butler. If you are googling it, it is Boston Rd.
    The Farmers Market opens at 9 a.m and runs to 2 p.m.. You can purchase fresh produce grown in Pendleton County from one of the 32 local farmers, crafters, or artisans who pour their talent and love into every product at the market.
    Make your way south of Falmouth at 10 a.m. and take a free zipline through Camp Northward’s seven acre home located at 154 Northward Drive, Falmouth. The weight limit is from 50 lbs to 275 pounds. You must wear closed-toe shoes and pants or knee length shorts.
    The restaurants in Falmouth are a great spot to take a break and enjoy some of the local cuisine for lunch.
    Punkyville kicks off the afternoon just south of Falmouth on U.S. 27 South. Punkyville is the realized dream of Charles Beckett, a.k.a. Punky, a lover of antique buildings, cars and traditional storefronts. Beckett created his own little community filled with things he enjoys, dubbed Punkyville. Some items and structures are gifted, such as a water tower from Lawrenceburg and a caboose.
    At 2 p.m., the activities ramp up at the Pendleton County Fairgrounds.
    Food trucks will be at the Fairgrounds from 2-9 p.m. They are: Smoking Pig, MiMi’s Little Kitchen, Wakita’s Highway Cafe, Curbside Sweet Shop, Rose Hill Farm Winery, Icees/Slushies, Drinks and cupcakes by Kincaid Regional Theatre.
    The Kentucky National Guard will be present with pedal cars, cornhole, archery tag and to answer any questions you have on the Kentucky National Guard.
    Stop by Kincaid Regional Theatre’s photo booth and memorialize the evening with a photo of you, family and friends.
    Pendleton County’s own Honey Hill Petting Zoo will be on site at the fairgrounds with a selection of animals for your children to pet, play and feed.
    If you are a golfer, Pendleton Hills is open for play from 3 to 8 p.m. for you to play nine holes and make it back to the fairgrounds for the evening’s activities.
    Car lovers, Butler Lions Club is hosting a Cruise In from 4-7 p.m. First 50 vehicles receive a dash plaque and a goodie bag. Make sure you are there for door prizes.
    The highlight of the evening for many will be the Belairs Show Band. The Belairs are a Las Vegas style musical tribute band playing 50s and 60s music. The show includes 4-part harmonies, costume changes and eye-catching choreography. Enjoy tributes to Roy Orbison, Dion, Dusty Springfield, Billy Joe Royal, Jackie Wilson, Tom Jones, Leslie Gore, Neil Diamond and many more. The Belairs Show is dedicated to those who can appreciate tunes that moved your feet and lifted your spirits. Relive the dreams of times gone by, memories and loves of the past, and romantic moonlight evenings. Rock ‘n Roll down memory lane with The Belairs Show Band.
    How do you end such a day of activity and family fun? Thaxton’s Canoe Trails and Paddlers’ Inn is offering a moonlight canoe and kayak float from their Butler location. The Moonlight Trips a few times each summer under the full moon twilight. These guided six-mile trips allow for plenty of time to bask in the beauty of the full moon while floating quietly down the river for three to four hours through the middle of the night.
