A big week ahead for the Pendleton County Wildcats as the regular season moves into its final three weeks. A big showdown with rival Robertson County on February 26 will determine the seeding for the upcoming district tournament.
The Wildcats, now 7-5 overall and winners of five of their past eight, recently notched a lopsided win over St. Pat and dropped contests versus NewCath and Scott. In their 68-39 win over St. Pat on February  19, a total of 13 players found their way into the scoring column led by senior Tredyn Thomas, who had 16 points and junior Braydon Kidwell with 13. Pendleton County lost 57-48 to NewCath on February  13, the team was led by Thomas and Kidwell who each scored 17 points.
On February  20, the Wildcats traveled to Scott and looked to snap a losing streak to the Eagles that dates back to 2006 but will have to wait another season as they were defeated 71-44. Tredyn Thomas led the team with 27 points. Pendleton County head coach Sam Elsbernd is still optimistic about his squad’s best days still being ahead of them.
“I think we have been all right lately, my main concern is just setting us up to have the most success possible in the postseason,” he said.
Pendleton County travels to face Brossart on February  22, followed by home matchups versus Calvary Christian on February  23 and district foe Robertson County on February. 26.
