This year, Elizabethtown and Paris will host the KTCCCA State Meet of Champions cross country races due to COVID regulations and the need to socially distance. Levi Wolfe traveled to Elizabethtown as the sole representative for Pendleton County in the 4th and Under State Championship. Levi’s time was 9:00.84 placing him 30th out of 92 runners in the 2000 meter run.
Later that afternoon, the rest of the Pendleton County Cross Country runners took to the course in Paris for the KTCCCA High School Meet of Champions Class AA.  Garrett Jack led the charge with one of his best races yet.  Jack’s time of 19:06.70 was a personal best on this course. Klaber Wolfe followed with a time of 20:07.70, then Patrick Patton with a time of 22:10.40, Sam Hodge with a time of 23:53.50 and Adam Straus with a time of 28:42.90. The team placed sixth in the Varsity 5000m finals.
The Cross Country team would like to welcome all out to watch them this weekend as they compete in Regionals.  Mason County will be host to the Region 4 Class AA meet. Varsity runners will take to the course at 1:00.  The top four teams will advance to KHSAA State as well as the top 5 individuals not affiliated with the top team.  Coach Craig Chaplin is optimistic about the Regional Meet and believes that PC has strong contenders in the Varsity Race.
