The Ladycats gave a great effort throughout districts and region play. Raegan Carlisle scored the only Ladycat goal for the Ladycats during tournament play on an assist from Cailyn Harper. The goal in the district game against Mason County was enough for a Ladycat victory and to move them on to the championship game in which they lost to Harrison County.
Pendleton County opened region play facing a very strong Montgomery County team. The Lady Indians controlled from the onset of the game while the Ladycats could never find the back of the goal.
Coach Aaron Harper said, “I love this team. I’m so proud of all of them.” Coach Harper also mentioned the play of his seniors over the season. Maci Gillespie, Isabella Miracle, Allie Redden, Emily Cobb, McKenzie Turner, Kirsa Hanser, Paige Baker, Caitlin Meeks, Ashton Beach all contributed in various ways to the team’s growth over the season.
Reflecting on the season Coach Harper remarked, “Unfortunately our season is over, but I saw tremendous growth in each player from individual skill to building a team. The growth is just the beginning for the program. We will take some time off then develop off season training. I look forward to working with the returning players and the new ones. We have a solid base to build on and there will be great times ahead for Ladycat Soccer.”
