Pendleton County High School announces that four juniors have been selected as our nominees to the Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Program (GSP).  This year’s nominees are: Addyson Crouch, Mason Hardy, Keeley Pollard, and Keitin Pugh.
These students will now be in competition with other students from across the commonwealth for one of the approximately 1,000 places in the 2021 summer program.
The Governor’s Scholars Program is a stimulating, five-week, residential summer program for outstanding Kentucky students completing their junior year in high school.          Established in 1983, the popular program provides academic and personal growth in a challenging, non-traditional experience that balances a strong liberal arts program with a full co-curricular and residential life.
The Governor’s Scholar Program competition is open to all juniors.  It is highly competitive in nature and involves a lengthy application process.  The students are selected based on multiple criteria that include academic record, ACT or PSAT test scores, personal essay, student resume that includes activities as well as demonstrated leadership and service.
