US MILITARY VETERAN
Berry — Chris Alan Thompson, 65, of Berry, passed away on May 27, 2026, at his home. He was born in Columbus on February 25, 1961, son of William and Eva Thompson.
He was a heavy equipment operator for the Harper Company and a United States Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his wife, Maria Hargett Thompson; son, Christopher Thompson; daughter, Meghann Smith; sisters, Melanie (Mike) Haley, Tina (Rick) Willoughby; grandchildren, Zoey Smith and Cecilia Smith.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026, at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral will immediately follow, also at the funeral home.
Chris’ final resting place, under full military honors, will be at Morgan cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, can be made out to Pendleton County FFA in care of Pendleton County High School.
