The Falmouth Outlook invited Pendleton County parents to send photos of their kids at the Kentucky State Fair. Here are more scenes from the fair, held Aug. 20 to 30 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. The first photos were published in the Sept. 2 edition of the Outlook.
Carson Crouch had a great showing at the Kentucky State Fair, winning Champion Lightweight Cross Gilt, Reserve Grand Champion Chester White Breeding gilt and KY Proud Champion Chester in the 4-H show; third overall Breeding Gilt and Reserve Grand Hampshire Market Barrow in the 4-H show; and Grand Hampshire Market Barrow in the Open Show.
Lilah Mann, 11, took home Reserve Overall Landrace Gilt, bred by Flory Swine Genetics, and Open Show Grand Overall Berkshire Market Hog, bred by RBV Farm. She is a Sharp Middle School sixth-grader.
Hayden placed seventh in her breeding ewe class with her natural ewe, fourth in breeding showman ship, sixth with white ewe in market black face cross, third in her age division lamb showmanship, eighth in market with wether in hamp market class, first in her age division hog showman ship, eighth in the final hog showmanship, firstin her class with durc gilt, final drive for durc and received third overall durc glit, which put her in the Champion Drive.
Cambryn Florence placed second in showmanship with lambs and second with her hog in showmanship. Cambryn and her sister Calee combined for four second place finishes and a third place.
Ava Toomey placed eighth for her middle weight breeding gilt class and third for Ky Proud Middleweight Breeding Gilt class, seventh in her class for Market Hog, first for KY Proud in her market hog class and placed first in her showmanship.
Isabella Thompson, 12, had a photograph from her 4-H photography club go to state, where it took a red ribbon. She is a seventh-grader at Sharp Middle School.
Brinley Babb scored a blue ribbon with her 4-H Foods project with oatmeal muffins and a white award with coffee cake and topping.
For kindergartener Ada Jones, it was her first year being eligible to show at the Kentucky State Fair. She enjoys showing, washing her pigs and staring at the judge.
Ava Moore is all smiles as she displays her grand champion in the Novice Market, which got her into the Grand Drive on her first time at Kentucky State Fair.
Jessa Conrad shows her market hog and won first place in her showmanship class. She also shows a market goat.
