Will the high schools be able to return to an in-person commencement for the Class of 2021 or will schools have to keep it virtual is a burning question for seniors and their parents.
“We have not determined any dates or locations for senior activities at this time. This isn’t unusual, as we never set dates for these events this early in the year, pandemic or no pandemic,” said Superintendent Joe Buerkley.
Based on the guidelines that Kentucky has presently for group gatherings, in-person commencement would not be an option.
“If we had to make this decision today, based on guidance for group gatherings, we would have to proceed with virtual events. Luckily, we do not have to make this decision today and we can hope things continue to improve, which may lead to different guidance for group gatherings.” he added
