Happy 50th anniversary to Bro. Greg and Cherie.

The message this week was “The Gift of Cheerful Giving”.  When people talk about giving the first thing we think about is money. But giving is much more than that.  Everyone has been given a special talent. We need to use those talents for service. Such as VBS, playing the piano, teaching, pastoring. It’s easy to find an excuse not to give of our time even on Sunday morning. We need to be worshiping together and getting to know one another.

Remember the families of Larry Wayne Hutchison and Sugar Harden.

Butler Christ Community

Greetings friends, may God bless you all week long.

Pastor Ron spoke to us from Numbers on Sunday making us aware that we need to strive to be better people .

This Sunday will be Palm Sunday and the children will be bringing the palms to the altar, then the following Sunday will be Easter and we will be proclaiming “He Arose!”

At 1 p.m. on March 29 the Falmouth Baptist Church will host the Pendleton Co-Op of Churches for the Good Friday service. All are invited!

Please pray with us for all those on the prayer list.

May God bless you as you read this.

Oakland

"Did Jesus Really Die?"  That was our message of the hour.  We know Jesus was crucified and did willingly die.  Even history confirms His death.  Read Matthew 27:45-55.

Our 2024 Ladies Day is coming April 13, 11-3 p.m.  Our theme is "Put on Your Apron".  We are excited to invite our area ladies to come share in this day.

Youth Sunday is March 24.  After a light noon meal, we will be having our annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Bring a child and come join in the fun!

Looking ahead to Easter, we are having a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m., then a Sunrise service at 7 a.m., with Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. and Morning Worship at 10:35 a.m.

Prayer concerns include Tirah Clemons, Avery Burris, Carol Miley, Brian Flynn, Jim McCann, Kelly Cox, Julie Sandy, Andrea Hall, Bobby Simpson, Jean Chambers, Faye Godman, Charles Klaber, Ricky Gillespie, Diane Moorhead, shut-ins, cancer/Covid issues, and our nation and its military.

Our sympathy to loved ones of Justin Brown and Marilyn Shields Gallagher.

Pleasant Ridge

Bro. Mark’s message was from Hebrews 11:1.

Easy faith and hard faith.  What is faith?  It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen.  Easy faith is what Jesus has done for our salvation.  We can’t save ourselves.  Jesus did that on the cross to purchase our salvation.  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  God will say depart I never knew your for those who broke his laws and did not come to know him.

Hard faith is when you get news that can’t be explained.  When the healing doesn’t come.  Rely on your support system and lay your struggles before God.  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.

Turner Ridge

The last two Sundays we have been blessed! March 3 we welcomed Turner Ridge’s New Year’s baby Noah Ernst. The family was presented Noah’s cradle roll certificate and Bro. Dale had prayer with the family.  Brooke Florer read John 8:31-32 and Robin Koettel brought special music. Bro. Dale led the children’s message “The Thankful Leper” and explained to the kids how important it is to say “Thank You”.

March 10, Warren Farrar shared his testimony! Kiersten Beighle read Luke 9:51 followed by special music from the Praise team “What He’s Done”. The children’s message was on Palm Sunday, from Luke 19:28-40. He Set His Face from Matthew 21:1-11 was the message. We focused on Palm Sunday this week, so that on March 24 – Palm Sunday, we can focus our thoughts on The Lord’s Supper, and on March 31 we will celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. If you don’t have a church, we invite you to come worship with us, and find out how to spend eternity in heaven with our Lord.
