By Burton Cole WALTON — A former Falmouth police officer was one of two Boone County sheriff’s deputies wounded in a shooting Thursday night.Kyle Florer, 30, of Falmouth, was listed in stable condition Friday in the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

By Nila Harris WALTON — Ryan Moore, formerly of Falmouth, retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 1/2 years of service.Moore, a 1996 Pendleton County High School graduate, signed up for the Air Force in December 2001 after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists attack on the United States.

Police commended for heroic actions

By Jim Thaxton FALMOUTH — Six city police offers were commended during the July 3 Falmouth City Council meeting for their actions during a May 17 shootout on city streets, and two officers were awarded medals for life-saving action during a May 3 fire.
