Want to be a weather spotter? Print E-mail

This winter weather will eventually be over at some point and we’ll enter the severe weather season. To get ready for Severe Weather and Tornados, the National Weather Service (NWS) will conduct a Weather Spotter training class in Pendleton County on February 18th at 6:30 PM. It will be held at the Pendleton County Emergency Operations Center located next to the High School.

This will be a very interesting presentation, it's free, open to the public regardless of where you live, lasts only a couple of hours and provides a lot of good information you can use regarding tornados, thunderstorms and other severe weather. Also, if you so choose, you can become an official weather spotter, you’ll get a number to call the NWS to report what you see as far as local weather conditions. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the weather and hopefully how to better protect yourself and your family.
