By Jennifer Redden The PCHS cheer squad placed first at the Northern Kentucky Cheerleading Coaches Association (NKCCA) competition on Jan. 27 at Ryle High School. The cheer squad has received a trophy at five out of the six competitions they have been in this season.

By Rhonda Hutchison    NEWPORT—The Pendleton County High School Wildcat bowlers earned their fourth straight Region 5 boys championship, and for the first time, two Ladycat bowlers advanced to the state finals, finishing first and second in individual regional competition.

By Stacey Myers & Sam McClanahan  The Pendleton County Ladycats avenged a lopsided early season loss to Augusta by defeating the Lady Panthers on Jan. 16. Three Ladycats recorded double-doubles in the hard-fought 46-39 win. Sophomore Lilly Ashcraft scored 12 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.

Wildcats produce most impressive week in years

By Sam McClanahan  It was a banner week for the Pendleton County Wildcats as the team notched three road victories including a pair over Montgomery County and Bourbon County in a span of 48 hours.

PCHS Bowling team returns to action following the holiday break

By: Rhonda Hutchison On January 6th, the Pendleton County bowlers were back in action at Walt's Center Lanes in Newport competing in the 2024 Covington Catholic Invitational tournament.  There were 17 boys teams and 12 girls teams competing in the invitational from various parts of Kentucky.

Wildcats Basketball drop pair, now 7-8 at mid-season

By Sam McClanahan The Pendleton County Wildcats have reached the midway point of the regular season and currently sit at 7-8 overall. Although the team has already surpassed its win total from last season, there's still plenty of room for improvement according to head coach Mason Monroe.

Wildcats split pair of games in Gatlinburg

By Sam McClanahan The Pendleton County Wildcats ventured south to Gatlinburg, TN to take part in the Smokey Mountain Winter Classic, the program's first out-of-state trip since 2015. The Wildcats first took on Trion High from Georgia on December 27 and suffered a 54-52 loss.

Ladycats pick up win at Dayton, lose to Elliott County at holiday tournament

By: Stacey Myers The Pendleton County Ladycats picked up their third road win and fourth win overall with a 61-52 victory at Dayton on December 18.   Junior Kearstin Mayer scored 19 points, all of them in the second half of the game and grabbed five rebounds to lead the team to victory.

Wildcats match win total from last season with home victory over Bishop Brossart

By: Sam McClanahan  The resurrection of the Pendleton County Wildcats boys basketball program is in full effect following a 72-58 win over Bishop Brossart on December 20. The team now has six wins in its first 10 games, matching their total already from last season.
