Business moves to new location

The Mystery Box discount store celebrated its grand re-opening Jan. 7 in its new location at 305 Main St., Falmouth. The larger store allows for better display of more overstock and deep-discount items. The Mystery Box is open every Tuesday through Sunday.

After debating over the entries, the judges declared a penguin brightly colored by Evelyn Bachman, 7, of California, Kentucky, as their favorite. The young artist used markers, sticking primarily to a red and green palette, accented with orange and blue. For her effort, she wins the $25 first prize.

Governor moves to outlaw Kratom

Team Kentucky/ Outlook staff report FRANKFORT — Gov. Andy Beshear announced last Wednesday that his administration is taking action to prevent the sale and distribution of a dangerous substance in Kentucky by moving to classify 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) as a Schedule I narcotic.
