25 Years Ago - January, 1996     Marble shootings lead to arrest of Cynthiana man, Edward Walker, 40, and a Somerset man, Robert Wright, Jr., 28.  Numerous businesses and residents along U.S. 27 in Falmouth and Pendleton County also sustained marble damage. No one was injured in Pendleton County.

EASY TO VOTE & HARD TO CHEAT BILL PASSES HOUSE 93 to 4

Frankfort, Ky. (February 26, 2021) – Secretary of State Michael Adams praised the Kentucky House for passing by a 93-4 vote House Bill 574, Kentucky’s most significant election reform legislation since 1992. No member spoke against the legislation, which now heads to the Senate for consideration.

25 Years Ago - December 26, 1995     Three Falmouth fireman announced their retirement from the department after many years of service. Falmouth Fire Chief Keevil Hart presented the three men with plaques.

25 Years Ago - December 12, 1995     New Year’s Eve dance and covered dish supper will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday December 31 at the Goforth Community Center.     Hall Electronics 101 West Shelby Street a brand new Uniden 25 channel cordless phone only $69.

25 Years Ago - December 12, 1995     New ambulance headquarters finished. Construction of the new headquarters on West Shelby has been completed and everything moved into the building.

25 Years Ago - December 5, 1995     Community donations to purchase defibrillators aided in saving the life of a Falmouth man. EMT’s were called to the Budde home on Elm St.

Looking Back - January 19

25 Years Ago - November 21, 1995     An unmarked Falmouth police cruiser was stolen and while being chased by KSP ran into the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emmitt Booher on Main Street. The car was taken from Roberts Garage and was damaged considerably in the accident.

25 Years Ago - November 14, 1995     192 deer taken with a gun on opening weekend in the county. Lakota Taxidermy biggest deer checked in was Buddy Eaton’s 13 pointer with a 20 inch outside span and 18 inch inside span.

25 Years Ago - October 17, 1995     Denise Fisher, of Snakelick Road in Pendleton County, was seriously injured by a bull on her farm asshe was trying to put it back in the pasture.     Historical Society looking for Civil War soldiers buried in the county.

Looking Back - December 8

25 Years Ago - October 3, 1995     Nine property owners in Pendleton County are notified they are now residents in Kenton County. Nine families living on Rogers Road and Grassy Creek Road in the western part of Pendleton County received tax bills from Kenton County.
