25 Years Ago - November 25, 1997 At the Nov. 17 special session for Falmouth City Council, the second reading of the ordinance for hiring a city administrator was read. Steve Hasson was chosen by council to fill the position of administrator.

25 Years Ago - November 18, 1997 Butler City Council voted at their Nov. 3 regular meeting to proceed with the purchase of the old Farmers National Bank building at the cost of $70,000. Greg McElfresh made the motion, seconded by Harold Lee.

25 Years Ago - November 4, 1997 A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Nov. 1 for the new Butler Municipal Building on Taylor street. The fire department and police will be located in the building.

25 Years ago June 1996     Kincaid Bassmaster’s 10th Annual Kid’s Fishing Tournament draws 214 children. Josh Whaley was awarded the trohy for biggest fish with a catfish weighing in at 1.28 pounds.     Louise Pettit now has the farmer’s market open at the Korn Store in Butler seven days a week.
