2021 @NKUNorseSB schedule is now available

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky softball program has announced its schedule for the 2021 season. In addition to a trio of non-league events, the schedule includes nine weeks of Horizon League of action, featuring doubleheaders being played every gameday.

Nonconference Highlights

  • Three weekend-long events open the 2021 season for Norse softball, including trips to Louisville, Kentucky, Knoxville, Tennessee and Carbondale, Illinois.
  • NKU opens with doubleheaders against Bellarmine and Central Michigan on Feb. 20 and 21, playing each opponent once per day.
  • Tennessee is hosting a tournament Feb. 26-28 in Knoxville. Opponents and game times have not yet been announced, but will be updated on the softball schedule page on NKUNorse.com as soon as they are available.
  • Nonconference action wraps up for the Norse with a four-game set hosted by Southern Illinois. NKU plays SIU on March 5 and 7, while it squares off against Murray State and Creighton on March 6.

Horizon League Highlights

  • NKU opens the League season March 12-13 in a four game home series against Green Bay.
  • March 19-20 has Northern Kentucky on the road where it faces off with Oakland.
  • In a midweek doubleheader, the Norse travel north to take on Youngstown State. These matchups are set for Tuesday, March 23.
  • To end a busy week, Northern Kentucky plays at home against Cleveland State on March 26-27.
  • The Norse open the month of April on the road with tests against UIC on April 2-3.
  • With a short turnaround, NKU travels back home to take on Robert Morris on Tuesday, April 6.
  • April 9-10 has Northern Kentucky traveling to Michigan to compete against Detroit Mercy.
  • April 16-17 and 23-24 will both be four-game home series against Purdue Fort Wayne and IUPUI, respectively.
  • The Norse play their last road games April 30-May 1, against Robert Morris.
  • NKU closes out the regular season with a home series against Youngstown State on May 7-8.
