A visit to River Valley

Janice and I walked thru the garden area that leads to the main entrance of River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. Nursing homes can be depressing, but this one lifts one’s spirits with its variety of flowers that bloom throughout the growing season. Interspersed among the flowers a tomato plant peeks thru as if to say, “Don’t forget me, I’m here, too. I may not be as pretty, but I am good to eat. You can’t eat flowers.” A kitty cat scampers under the vines, imagining, I suppose, that he or she is a giant jungle tiger in Africa, hunting for its prey.  When the weather is warm, several residents sit near the entrance, enjoying the beauty of the flower way.
