Rumpke offers job training programs

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is currently hiring for several driving positions, and while many positions require a CDL, Rumpke encourages those without to still apply.

Rumpke offers a training program to help motivated employees earn their commercial driver’s license.

“Nationwide, there is a shortage of individuals with commercial driver’s license,” said Anita Meiman, human resources manager, Rumpke.. “Drivers are the foundation of our business. We are willing to make an investment in training an employee if they are willing to make a commitment to our company.”

Individuals interested in becoming a Rumpke driver who don’t currently have a CDL can apply to be a driver trainee.  Driver trainees assist CDL drivers with their collection routes while also participating in weekly trainings to obtain their CDLs.

Driver trainees are required to obtain their CDL within 120 days of being hired.

According to Meiman, Rumpke offers many jobs in a growing, stable industry.

“We are a family company that offers competitive pay and great benefits,” Meiman said. “Our Company prides itself on being a great place to work.  It’s not easy, but we have year round work, offer overtime, and a place you can grow and advance.”

In addition to CDL driving positions, Rumpke is also hiring diesel mechanics.

“We also offer on the job training for mechanics,” said Meiman. “However, we do require them to have some basic knowledge of how to work on vehicles.”
