Virgil Keith Fardo, 73
Virgil Keith Fardo, 73, of Butler, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Hospice of St. Elizabeth Health Care, Edgewood.
He was born in Butler on August 11, 1941 to the late Kenneth and Garnet Kyle Shoemaker Fardo, was a 1959 graduate of Butler High School and married Patricia Trankler on August 8, 1959 and together they raised four children. He operated the Farmer's Market in Butler for 25 years, while simultaneously working for Consolidated Frieghtways for 14 years along with farming, attended the Assembly of God, Alexandria, served as a board member of Butler Rest Home, was a member of the Butler Lions Club, the Pendleton County Sportsman Club and the Gideons International. He loved to spend time with his family and friends as well as hunt grouse and turkey.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 55 years Patricia Fardo, are children, Roger Fardo, Brooksville, Dan Fardo, Falmouth, Jason Fardo, San Diego, Calf., and Julie Fardo Wardlow, Flemingsburg, Ky.; sister, Donna Baker, Butler; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m., to 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Second Twelve Mile Baptist Church, 5793 Hwy 154, Butler, KY 41006, with funeral services following at 1 p.m., also at the church with Pastor Tony Spence officiating. Special music will be shared by Jacob Spence. Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, will be serving the family.
Interment will take place at the Peach Grove Cemetery, Pendleton County.
