Dr. George E. Lovelace, 69
Dr. George E. Lovelace, 69, of Flatwoods, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.
George was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Falmouth, to the late Mildred L. and George D. Lovelace.
George was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and graduated from University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine. He practiced dentistry in the Ashland area for almost 30 years.
He was a strong friend to many in the community, who will remember his individual sense of humor and commitment to his work. He was a longstanding member of Raceland First Baptist Church and had a love of gardening, woodworking and classical music.
Preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a younger sister, Joanna.
He leaves behind son, James Dustin (Kacy) Lovelace; daughter, Mary Ashleigh Lovelace (James Amenta); brothers, David and Neil Lovelace; sister, Susan Lovelace Miranda; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth.
Interment was in Turner Ridge Cemetery in Falmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Remote Area Medical (RAM), an all-volunteer organization that provides free dental and medical care in the U.S. and other countries.
