Carl Joseph Kelly, 86, of Alexandria, KY, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024. He was born in Greenwood in Pendleton County, KY on April 1, 1938, son to the late Joseph and Ernestine Bryan Kelly. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his brother Ray Kelly and sister Paula Kay Pettit.
Carl graduated from Butler High School and graduated from Ohio Mechanic Institute. Carl married Mary Jane Steffen on September 12, 1959. Carl worked for Baker Concrete Construction as a General Superintendent, and he was a member of the carpenter union local 698.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jane Kelly; sons Mark (Cathy) Kelly, Mike (Stacey) Kelly, Marty (Lisa) Kelly; daughters Carleen (Dave) Ficker, Amanda (Roy) McLaren; brother Ralph Kelly; 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5 at St. Mary Church in Alexandria, KY. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:30 pm, also at the church.
Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Alexandria, KY. Preceding the burial, all are welcome to the St. Mary Undercroft for the reception.
Memorials, if desired, are suggested to Bishop Brossart Scholarship Fund, Newport Catholic Scholarship Fund, and St. Mary Legacy Fund.
