FIREhouse Ministries: What it is and how to help

FIREhouse is a local ministry aimed at advancing God's Kingdom through simple obedience of the gospel of Jesus Christ. FIREhouse combines the Sunday night meetings and community outreach projects to be directly involved in the community. FIREhouse's primary focus is the prevention, treatment and recovery from the sin of addiction.

The ministry held its first meeting in January 2014 at the Butler Community Center. However in August the FIREhouse moved to 213 Matilda, Butler (across from Williams Place Apartment Complex). The new location is referred to as the FIREhouse Activity Center. FIREhouse also rents the ministry house across from the Community Center.

This is not a church group or a group with a religious agenda. FIREhouse is a ministry that simply wants to present the gospel in a nontraditional way to bring life changing love of Christ to the lost.

FIREhouse is open five-seven days a week. However there's not a scheduled activity for each day. The scheduled open days include: Tuesday's 3:30-5:30 p.m., after school program (activities and snack), Thursday's 6:30 p.m., prayer walk and Sunday's 6:30 p.m., FIREhouse meetings.

Volunteers are at FIREhouse throughout the week to work on building projects, connect with the families and to encourage and pray with folks. We provide contact information and resources for drug rehabilitation, education, employment, budget and credit classes and food assistance.

FIREhouse meetings are held every Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m., at the FIREhouse Activity Center. There's music, testimonies, a message and prayer. Darrell Breeden shares the message.

The praise and worship schedule is:

First and third Sunday - acoustic music (variety of bands)

Second and fourth Sunday - Christian rock by "Trial By Fire."

Come as you are, no judgement, no requirements, no dress code.

Bands/individuals to lead worship on the first and third Sunday are currently being scheduled. Music can be contemporary, bluegrass, old time gospel, ect. If you are interested in scheduling a Sunday, please contact Jeff Daunt at 859-653-8034.

FIREhouse is a 100 percent volunteer supported ministry. There is no paid staff and volunteers rang from 13 years old and up. Current volunteers needed:

Sunday evening child care/kids program.

Drivers - needed for taking addicts and/or family of addicts to long term rehab facilities, doctor appointments, jobs, grocery shopping, ect.

Tuesday after school program - assist with activities, monitoring and ministering to kids and help serve snacks and/or donate snacks.

Prayer warriors - lead and/or participate in weekly prayer at the FIREhouse activity center. The needs vary from week to week. For example, we've had several people preparing for their drivers license. If you are a patient, instructor type person that's available a few hours a week you could make a difference. Obtaining a driver's license can be the first step towards changing one's life around. It can bring hope to the hopeless.

If interested in volunteering please contact Sandy Daunt at 859-466-1657.

The current needs include 20 folding chairs, folding picnic table with benches and two infrared heaters.

Monetary donations payable to: FIREhouse Ministries, P.O. Box 71, Butler, KY 41006.
