Work will soon begin to replace a bridge on KY 159 (Pleasant Hill Road) in Pendleton County as part of the Bridging Kentucky program. The bridge crosses North Little Kincaid Creek (4.6 milepost).
The current structure, a 113-foot by 24-foot concrete bridge built in 1956, will be replaced by a new bridge with generally the same dimensions. The new structure will have a life span of at least 75 years.
KY 159 will be closed to through traffic during the construction, beginning June 7.  Motorists are encouraged to use the signed detour taking KY 609 to KY 177 to KY 159.  The bridge is scheduled to be completed by Aug. 7.
Louisville Paving Co. is the contractor for the project. The KY 159 bridge one of 13 bridges being replaced in nine counties under the $8.59 million contract.
