I think one of the most important things that the Mayor and the next council will face is building on somethings that this present council is striving to accomplish. It was brought up by Councilwoman Bonita of annexation.
I concurred with her and her visions for the future. I hope to accomplish this task and have the support of this council as well as the people in which were duly elected to serve.
I think for me the biggest out of the box idea would be getting more public involvement into revitalizing our city or reinvesting into the town. I’ve visited many small towns in the Commonwealth and there’s something very significant about each individual town. I believe in “putting our town back on the map.” You ask many people what do you associate Butler with? Many could say the old Butler High School or the Wood Covered Bridge, or even the plant being Pittsfield that just shut down in the spring. So why not start something now that could potentially rank among those few things. It’s time to stop living in the pre 1997 flood era; it is time for us to be progressive and move forward towards a town that generations to come will come to know and love. I know in my 23 years of living Butler has changed. It’s time to take the change and move forward. I sincerely thank the editor of the Falmouth Outlook for giving the candidates a platform in this pandemic to reach crucial voters. Stay safe and Stay healthy.
