Campaign signs to be removed from state highways

Campaign and other temporary advertising signage illegally placed on state highway rights of way will be removed to maintain safety. According to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) officials, signs show up along state highways in greater numbers in the month prior to an election.

“This time of year especially, we see a lot of signs,” said Rob Hans, chief district engineer for KYTC District 6. “Political signs and other advertising signs can block the view of drivers at intersections as they watch for oncoming traffic.”
