Several members of the community, members of the Pendleton Fiscal Court, Butler City Council, Pendleton Industrial Authority, Chamber of Commerce, and family and friends of Medialog Inc. gathered April 29 at the Menzie Bottoms location for a groundbreaking.

Medialog owners Dan Bell, Becky Bell and Jim Bell were on hand to throw the first shovels of dirt. City and county officials, along with friends and family, brought their shovels to join the festivities.

Dan Bell said Medialog Inc. provides process supplies for booksellers and catalogs of books for libraries.

“We produce about 1 million clear polyester covers for books each year,” Bell said. “We have about 75 book and media vendors at present.”

The new location will be a 13,750-square-foot building for the growing business and 23 employees, including the owners. Medialog is relocating to Pendleton County from Alexandria.

Sheriff Harold Wright reports that the Moreland Drug robber has been arrested and confessed in Middletown, Ohio.

He is Bobby Hatchell of Dayton. Now being held at Middletown, he has signed a confession that states: “I broke in the drug store in Falmouth by going through the back door about a week ago. I took some pills from the drug store, and I did do this myself.”

Hatchell was first stopped on a traffic violation by Middletown police, and furnished a driver’s license that stated his name was Bobby Bargo of Dayton. Two days later, the same officer stopped him and he gave his name as Bobby Hatchell.

The officer placed him under arrest for giving false information.

He and three passengers had with them a Smith and Wesson revolver stolen in Warren County, Ohio, a large amount of narcotics, and canceled checks of the Pendleton County Chamber of Commerce.
