A dispatcher's training and motherly love keep her and son calm till rescued

As a 911 Pendleton County Dispatcher Teresa Rick, 35, has had many hours of training on talking victims through vehicle accidents, having them stay calm until police or rescue workers could reach them. Little did she know that all that training and her mother's instincts and love for her child would help keep her son and herself calm and safe until help could arrive some eight hours after  an accident on Sept. 29, 2014

Right after the accident Teresa told her mother and father that a deer had run in front of her and she remembered the two things her dad had always told her. Don't swerve to miss a deer, hit it and fight to keep the vehicle on all fours.
