Wildcats claim second straight District championship

It was like deja vu all over again as the Pendleton County Wildcats edged out a gamed Harrison County squad en route to winning the team’s second straight district championship on Feb. 26, at Nicholas County High School.

The much-anticipated rematch from last year’s championship game lived up to its billing as both teams battled for the entire 32 minutes, trading momentum-shifting runs throughout the night before the Cats finally seized control in the final minutes to come out with a 52-46 victory. The team returned home to Falmouth with the school’s 31st District Championship in hand and now owns nine consecutive 38th District Championship game victories dating back to 2004.
