Sunday morning started with a slight rain as residents of Pendleton County awoke to make their way to church, but overnight the first semi trailer carrying a ride for the Pendleton County Youth Fair had arrived at the fairgrounds.

Bernice Camidge, 54, returned home around lunch time to find the front of her family’s double wide on Ashlee Lane caved in. A tree that was a fixture in their front yard fell during the heavy thunderstorms slamming into the front of their home causing a great deal external damage.

Severe weather blew through Pendleton County early Friday afternoon and caused electric headaches for emergency crews, residents and Bluegrass and Owen County electric.

After battling a bout of brown water for Falmouth residents over a two-week period, Water and Wastewater Department Supervisor Andy Richie called Department of Environmental Protection Regional Office at Florence.

Kentucky has instituted  new immunization guidelines for students for the 2018-19 school year.

All K-12 students must show proof of receiving two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine and students 16 years or older need proof of receiving two doses of the Meningococcal vaccine to attend school.

As the school year starts, all certified staff working at PCHS, Sharp Middle School, and both elementary schools will be participating in a poverty simulation in preparation for the 2018-19 school year.
