Luke Nordheim, senior at Pendleton County High School, was appointed to the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In order to be appointed to the Academy, one must get a congressional nomination. He received a congressional nomination through US Representative Thomas Massie.

The principal positions at most schools seem to be a stepping stone as they come and go. Pendleton County High School has seen that occur several times over the past decade.

“It’s awesome,” Trent Moeves said about the job he gets to do on a daily basis. The job is working with the avianics system on the Blue Angels’ McDonnell Douglas F/A-18D Hornet which will be performing at the Vectren Dayton Air Show at Dayton International Airport on June 23-24. Gates open at 9 a.m.
