Pendleton County cross country team members Klaber Wolfe and Kara Bishop competed at the KHSAA State Cross Country Championship on October 28 at the Kentucky Horse Park.

Sophomore Klaber Wolfe placed 93rd out of 261 runners. Wolfe ran 19:16. Seventh grader, Kara Bishop, ran 27:30 in the 5K race. She placed 181st out of 226 runners.

Following the event, team head coach Craig Chaplin had this to say. “Both runners ran really well, and I am very proud of them both. Wolfe has qualified since 7th grade, which is the first year of eligibility. He passed 25 people in the last mile. Klaber ran even better than he did last year at state. Cara passed 20 people in the last mile. She is only a seventh grader, and it was only her second varsity race. This is the first year of eligibility for her and she qualified for state. I am so proud of Klaber and Kara.”
