Tennis team collects wins against Williamstown

The Pendleton County Tennis team enjoyed some victories over Williamstown as both the boys and girls doubles teams notched impressive scores.

On the girls side, Lexie Teegarden, senior, lost in a super tie break, 1-6, 6-2, lost 7-10 in tie break. The doubles teams all won.  Chloe Holbrook and Leah Rardin rolled 6-3, 6-1, and the sister duo of Emma and Kara Bishop (7th graders).won 8-5.  Newcomers Cailyn Harper and Lilly Ashcraft won in their debut, 6-1, 6-1.   

On the boys side, freshman Braydon Askren won 6-4, 6-1, while Josh Craig won 8-4 and Colton Bishop (7th grader) also picked up a win. Askren would compete in a second match and win 6-3.

On March 28, the team faced Scott high school  and didn't win any matches but had some highlights.Brandon Askren played singles and went almost two hours in this match taking a loss. Josh Browning (7th grader) lost in singles action. Later on, Askren and Browning played  doubles and lost 1-6, 4-6.

This week, the tennis team has matchups scheduled against Simon Kenton, Calvary Christian and Bourbon County.
