The Pendleton County bowling teams are back on the lanes gearing up for another season of action. The teams (boys, girls, unified) are once again being lead by Coaches Ronnie Hutchison and Amber Brewer. The Wildcats come into this season as the team to beat due to their impressive region five record: region team champs three years running and region team runner up the year prior, boys singles region winner title three years running plus region runner up last year.

With the graduation of Bradford Peoples, Mary Mounts and Koby Brewer the Wildcats lost three of the teams top bowlers. When asked about the loss Coach Hutchison stated “The team will miss these players however, I am confident that the current team is more than capable of getting the job done.” In the unified division, junior Jordan Ewers will be returning to the lanes with a new partner Kyan Brewer. Jordan was the region runner up last year. New comer junior Dylan Beckett will also be joining the unified team with partner Maddie Crawford.

When ask about the new unified teams Coach Hutchison stated “We are excited and are looking forward to watching both Jordan and Dylan grow through out the season.” The Ladycats have five returning bowlers this year: senior Aliyah Webster, junior Maddie Crawford, freshman Dara Morton, eighth graders Brooklyn Wrobleski and Kree Brewer. The team is welcoming newcomer seventh grader Emma-Lee Chappell. The Ladycats are coming off their best season in school history. When ask what she sees in the Ladycats future Coach Brewer stated “The competition is tough but with hard work and practice I feel it is the Ladycats year to shine at the region.”

The Wildcats have seven returning bowlers: seniors Leroy Bryant, Bradley Brann, juniors Karson Enzweiler, Kyan Brewer, sophomores Josiah Hurdle, Adam Straus and freshman Braden Brann. Newcomers to the team are senior Colton Webster and sophomore Chance Enzweiler. When ask about the upcoming year Coach Hutchison had this to say    “As the reigning champs, I know that we are the team to beat. Because of our team’s strong returning core and great work ethic, I feel confident that we can once again rise to the top.”

The team will compete through mid-January with regional tournament action set to begin on January 22. KHSAA state tournament action will take place on February 5-7.
