The Pendleton County Ladycats bounced back from a tough opening week to collect a pair of wins over Bishop Brossart and Lewis County.

Quality pitching and clutch hitting led the way during the Ladycats 5-4 come-from-behind win over Brossart on March 27. Sophomore Mylie Honnert delivered the game-winning walk off hit in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two runs to seal the win. Honnert went 2-4 at the plate and had three RBI's on the day. Freshman pitcher Hannah Spaulding threw a complete-game, striking out 11 batters and also delivered an RBI at the plate.

Pendleton County hosted Tates Creek on March 29 and suffered a 8-3 loss. Tates Creek scored three runs in both the fourth and sixth inning and outhit the Ladycats 12-8 during the win. Riley Browning led the Ladycats with two hits and Madison Verst along with Reagan Anderson each doubled during the game. On March 30, the Ladycats enjoyed a lopsided 11-1 win over Lewis County at Moreland Field. Pendleton County broke open a 1-1 game in the fourth inning as they erupted for six runs to take control of the game. They followed that up with four runs in the fifth to force the mercy rule. The Ladycats pounded out 14 hits during the win as Spaulding and Verst (two doubles) had three hits and three RBI's each. Aubrey Mullins and Reagan Anderson had two hits apiece during the win.

"We are looking better every game we play," said Ladycats head coach Jessica Verst. We have been hitting the ball extremely well just right at people and against Lewis County they finally started to fall. Hannah Spaulding is getting better every game she pitches. I'm looking forward to watching us continue to grow and get better," Verst added.

This week, the Ladycats travel to face Ryle on April 4 followed by a road game at Boone County on April 5.
