On the morning of Wednesday, September 27th, Pendleton County High School students, staff, and community members gathered around the school’s flagpole to join each other in prayer.

But Pendleton County is just one of the many schools that participated in this event — millions of students all over the nation gathered that very same morning for “See You At The Pole”. The official website describes what the event is all about by stating, “See You at the Pole™ is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.”

As for PCHS, students certainly showed up for the cause. Despite the early meeting time and the rainy weather, the turnout was just shy of thirty individuals. Mr. Wright, the advisor of Fellowship of Christian Students, remarked at the event that there was the highest attendance he had seen at See You at the Pole in his years of advising the club. The club president, Layne Nelson, told us, “Being able to connect with not just the students but the staff and other people from our community was inspiring.” At the end of the day, it sounds like “See You at the Pole” was a success for Pendleton County High School.
