Falmouth Rotary congratulates scholarship recipients

The Falmouth Rotary Club wishes to congratulate the two Pendleton High School seniors awarded the Kevin Todd Collins Memorial Scholarship and the Falmouth Rotary Scholarship. With an incredible group of talented, hard-working applicants, Jordan Kirsch is the third recipient of the Kevin Todd Collins Memorial Scholarship, to help with her undergraduate studies.   Established by Dr. and Mrs. Owen Collins in memory of their son, Kevin, this scholarship honors dedication to academics, strength of character, and a willingness to help others.  
    Attending Johnson University in Knoxville, Tennessee this fall, Jordan will pursue a degree in teaching, with the opportunity to earn her master’s degree in four years.  While at PCHS, Jordan was part of the GATES program for four years as well as serving in Student Council, the National Honor Society, PCHS Choir, and the PCHS Academic Team. She also played volleyball and ran track and field. Jordan is s member of Grassy Creek Christian Church, where she is part of the youth group, youth band, and girls group bible study. She also participates in the Kirsch Family Christmas Light Display and Live Nativity.
    With a record number of outstanding applications, the Falmouth Rotary Club awarded their scholarship to Holly Bowman.
    Looking forward to heading to Eastern Kentucky University this fall, Holly Bowman plans to earn her Agricultural B.S. (Agronomy, Soils, and Natural Resources Concentration).  At PCHS Holly was active in the National FFA Organization, serving as Chapter Secretary, Leadership Committee Chair, a House of the Senate Legislative Page, and earning the highest grade point average award 3 times.  She was also an officer and member of Kentucky 4H, a member of the Kentucky United National Assembly, the academic team, Teen Court, and the Spanish Club.  Holly is a member of the Grassy Creek Christian Church, and she served in numerous community projects throughout her high school career.
    The Falmouth Rotary Club thanks Dr. and Mrs. Owen Collins for their support of education with the establishment of the Kevin Todd Collins Memorial Scholarship. We would also like to thank all in our community who support the Falmouth Rotary Club, which raises the funds for the general scholarships.  Your generosity makes these scholarships possible.
