On February 6-7, the Pendleton Wildcat Bowling Teams traveled to Louisville  to compete in the state bowling competition. Making their first ever Unified division state appearance, the Wildcats sent two teams comprised of Joseph Messmer/Bradley Brann and Jordan Ewers/Koby Brewer. After two seeding games, Ewers/Brewer bowled a 293, good for the 10 seed while Messmer and Brann’s 256 were good enough for the 12 seed. Both teams would go on to lose their first game of the single-elimination tournament.

In team competition, Pendleton sent their top nine bowlers, made up of Koby Brewer, Kyan Brewer, Karson Enzweiler, Bradley Brann, Braden Brann, Leroy Bryant, Josiah Hurdle, Adam Straus, and Bradford Peoples. After two seeding games, the Wildcats earned themselves the seven seed in a field of 16. The Wildcats’ first head-to-head matchup was against local rival and 10-seeded Boone County. In the state competition format, it’s a best-of-five bakers games. Pendleton County won the first game 140-118. The second game went to the Rebels 173-158. The Wildcats would take games three and four, 173-158 and 179-163 to win 3-1 over Boone County.

In the quarterfinals, Pendleton would find themselves facing off against the two-seed, Trinity. The Shamrocks came out strong and took game one 191-144. The Wildcats returned the favor and won a game two thriller, 189-186. Game three went to Trinity, 206-142. The Wildcats rallied to even things up with a 211-194 game four win. In the fifth and deciding game, the Shamrocks were able to pull out the 201-181 victory.

In the boys single competition, Koby Brewer and Karson Enzweiler represented the Wildcats in the field of 32 competitors. After the seeding round, Karson Enzweiler was 30th and Koby Brewer was 10th, missing the cut by two pins.
