Pendleton County Wildcats head football coach Kyle Pettit resigned on October 9. He was hired during the summer of 2022 after serving as an assistant on the staff for several years.

Pettit's connection to the football program dates back to early 2000's when he joined the team entering high school. He went onto become one of the most decorated players in school history and earned a scholarship to play at Georgetown College.

Longtime Wildcats assistant coach Walt Hornbeck will serve as interim coach for the duration of the season. Pendleton County has two remaining regular season contests, both on the road as they'll travel to face Lexington Catholic on October 20 followed by the regular season finale at Bishop Brossart on October 27.
