Lou Wells Hill, 73, Falmouth

Lou Deana Wells Hill, 73, of Falmouth, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2007 at her home. Lou was born in Grant County and the daughter of the late Chester and Odella Hutcherson Hammons.

Lou was a member of the Pendleton County Homemakers Karen Davis Club, Order of the Eastern Star and of Roanoke Christian Church, member of the Daughters of America.

She was proceded in death by husbands, Joe Wells and Hobert Hill, brothers Charles Hammons and A.J. Hammons.

She is survived by sons, David (Robin) Wells of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jim (Paula) Wells of Falmouth, daughters, Darlene (Gary) Simpson and Mary Lou (Lou) Johnson both of Falmouth, stepson, Jim (Janye) Hill of Covington and step daughter, Kathy Giglia of Florence, and brother Harold Hammons of Georgetown and sisters, Doris Carr and Patsy Yelton both of Falmouth, and 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Final resting place, Turner Ridge Cemetery in Pendleton County.

George Clouse Sr, 65, Richmond

George B. Clouse, Sr., 65 of Richmond, Ky, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2007 at his home. He was the son of the late Edward Franklin Clouse and Grace Huff Clouse Wardlow of Perry County. George was a project manager for the Richmond division of the Bluegrass Army Depot, and was retired from the Avon Department of the Bluegrass Army depot.

A member of the United States Army and the United States Marines, George served in the Vietnam war. He was a dedicated father and dedicated to his country. He was a member of the Church of God and the Masonic Lodge.

George was preceded in death by two brothers, Max Clouse and Lonnie Lee Clouse.

He is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Bobby) Prather of Salvisa, Ky, sons George B. (Connie) Clouse, Jr., of Richmond, Dwayne (Erin) Clouse of Georgetown, and three sisters, Carolyn (Clifton) Flynn of Falmouth, Sandy Boston of Versailles and Leitha (Billy) Lewis of Lexington, and two grandchildren, and five neices and nephews.

Funeral services were held, Monday September 24, 2007 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth with Bro. George Combest officiating. Internment with full military honors by the Hardin Browning Post 109 was held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Pendleton County. Serving as pallbearers were G.B. Clouse, Jr., Dwayne Clouse, Robert J. Prather, Henry Brown, Ted Baker, David Boston, Larry Shewmaker, Clifton Flynn, Jr., and Zonnie Kilburn.

Wallace Brunker, 86, Falmouth

Wallace Brunker, 86 of Falmouth passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at his home.

The son of the late Lloyd G. Brunker and Carrie D. Smiley Brunker, Wallace was born in Harrison County, a member of the Sunrise Christian Church, serving as an elder and a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Varner Brunker, and son Larry Brunker, brother, O.C. Brunker and sister Imogene Whitmoyer.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ashcraft Pettit Brunker of Falmouth, son, Steven Brunker of Hendersonville, daughter, Phyllis Brown of Goodletsville, Tenn, and step sons, Frank Pettit and Tom Pettit both of Falmouth, and brother Vernon Brunker of Cynthiana, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held, Saturday, September 22 at Sunrise Christian Church in Sunrise. American Legion Post 109 and V.F.W. Post 1978 and D.A.V. Post members held full military service at the Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

Another veteran was laid to rest.

Carl Johnson, 82, Falmouth

Carl Johnson, 82, of Falmouth passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler.

Born in Bracken County, and son of the late Elbert Johnson and Etta McCarty Johnson.

Carl was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, and a member of the Harden Browning Post 109 in Falmouth.

He was proceded in death by his wife Minnie Johnson, brothers Roscoe and Kenneth Johnson and sister, Rozilla Johnson.

He is survived by several neices and nephews.

Funeral services were held at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Final resting place with full military honors by the Harden Browning Post 109 of Falmouth was held at Neave Cemetery, Bracken County.

Frances Linville, 65, Pendleton

Frances Louise Linville of Carlisle, formerly of Falmouth passed away September 15, 2007, on her 65th Birthday.

Born in Pendleton County, to the late Edgar Otto Yelton and Mable Maxine Johnson Yelton, Frances was a retired employee of Jockey International and a devoted member of Ishmael Chapel Church, Carlisle.

The highlight of her last few years was her missions trip to Mexico with her daughter and grandson, and other church members.

She is survived by her loving husband, Claude Benjamin Linville of Carlisle, son, Mark Adam (Betty Jo) Linville of Mt. Sterling, two daughters, Anna Marie Burton of Morehead, and Jennifer (Dan) Hildebrand of Flemingsburg, three sisters, Helen Brandenburg and Ruby Plummer of Falmouth, and Jean Thayer of Alexandria, six grandchildren, Bryan David and Ashley Nicole Burton, Kevin Thomas Ramey, Benjamin Joel Hildebrand, Charles (Amy) Nichols and Crystal Nichols and two great grandchildren, Alexis and Mason Nichols.

Frances was proceded in death by her brother, Richard Arthur Yelton.

Funeral services were held September 18 at Mathers-Gaunces Funeral Home by Bro. Dan Hildebrand and Bro. Alvin Eckler. Burial services followed at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Fleming County.

 

Richard P. Schaber, 92, Alexandria

Richard P. Schaber, 92 of Alexandria, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 at St. Luke East Hospice in Fort Thomas.

A retired maintenance foreman with Interlake Steel,Wilder, Richard was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was also a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Alexandria and former member of Alexandria City Council Zoning and Planning. A long time Ring Master and board member for Alexandria Fair, he is survived by his wife, Aleene Chestnut Schaber, son Greg Schaber of Alexandria and step son, Rick Theis of Burbank, Calif.

Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Burial services were held at Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria.

Elizabeth Schmidt, 93, Melbourne

Elizabeth Charlotte Schmidt, 93 of Melbourne, Ky passed away Monday, September 17, 2007 at Mercy Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mrs. Elizabeth Schmidt was a retired school teacher in Campbell County Schools for 41 years. Her first teaching position was in a one room schoolhouse where she taught all grade levels.

She is survived by her daughter Wilma Schmidt McMullin of Melbourne and one grandchild, John McMullin.

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 20 at Alexandria Funeral Home, Alexandria. Burial was held at Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria.
