Mansion Begley Jr., 80, Falmouth

Mansion Begley, Jr., 80 of Falmouth passed away on Friday, August 31, 2007 at St. Luke Hospital East Hospice Unit, Ft. Thomas, Ky.

Born June 28, 1927 in Heidleberg, he was the son of Mansion Begley, Sr. and Nettie Durbin Begley. Mansion married Helen O. Price July 30, 1955, who preceded him in death.

A retired employee of Spector and Dieckbrader after 30 years of service, and a United States Army veteran, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. Mansion was a member of the Falmouth United Methodist Church and the Hardin-Browning Post 109.

He was proceded in death by brothers, Hubert Begley and Earl Begley, and sisters Eula Horn and Nellie McCollum.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol (Bob) House of Falmouth, and Connie Nelson of Palm Harbor, Florida, six grandchildren Gaye Adams, Brian House, Gwyn Everly, William Charles Nelson, Jr., Lecia Ross and Robert L. House, Jr., and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth. Arnold Ross officiated. Special rememberances were presented by Lecia Ross, Gwyn Everly and William Charles Nelson, Jr. Music was shared by Darryl Ammerman.

Pallbearers were Mark Ross, Ren Everly, William Charles Nelson, Jr., Eddie Adams, Jerry Miller, Brian House and Mike Glahn. Interment was held at Riverside Cemetery in Falmouth with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post 109.

American Legion Post 109 members held full military services for Mr. Mansion Begley September 4, 2007 at Riverside Cemetery.

American Legion Post 109 members present were, Ray Hammond, Jonathan Smith, Charles Gallagher, Ken Wrobleski, Carol Wolfe, Max Vance, Ronnie Bay, Larry Fields, Charles Biddle, Jim Hammond, Sam Hodge, Jim Sharp, Tim Morton, Baxter Courts, Omar Bentle, Steve Lonaker, Jim Harlow, Donald Steele, Gary Barnard, Jim Haley, Greg Tutt,Carl Butcher, Bob Gulick, Clay Clifford, Tom Luckey and Danny Woodhead.

Taps were played by Sam Hodge. Another veteran was laid to rest.

 

Bertha Meyer, 84, Alexandria

Bertha Meyer, 84 of Alexandria, Kentucky passed away Friday August 31, 2007 at Villa Springs, Erlanger. Bertha was a member of St Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria and a retired farmer and housekeeper. Bertha was the daughter of the late Alfred Meyer and Catherine Heeb Meyer. She is survived by her cousins.

Funeral services were held September 6, 2007 at St Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria, followed by interment at Saint Mary Cemetery, Alexandria.

 

Roy Lee Crawford, 78, Florence

Roy Lee Crawford, 78 of Florence, Ky formerly of Falmouth passed away Friday August 31, 2007 at his home.

Born on March 11, 1929 in Harrison County, Roy was a son of the late James Crawford and Daisy Barnes Crawford.

Roy was a member of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Erlanger Christian Church, and a 38 yr employee of G.E. Aircraft.

He is survived by his wife, Bettie, two daughters, Cynthia (Randy) Zumbiel of Louisville, Amy (Bill) Beuttel of Ft. Mitchell, 4 grandchildren, Satara and Jared Zumbiel, Trey and Drew Beuttel and sister Betty Lou Wilson.

Roy was preceded in death by his brother Paul Crawford.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth. Rev. Charlie Martin officiated. The pallbearers were Bill Beuttel, Randy Zumbiel, Trey Beuttel, Drew Beuttel, Jared Zumbiel and Satara Zumbiel. Burial service followed at Morgan Cemetery.

A memorial service was held at Erlanger Christian Church.

William Bell, 87 Ft.Thomas

William Woodson Bell, 87 of Fort Thomas, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Hospice of the Bluegrass.

William served in the United States Army during World War II and Korea. He was the Director of Conversation Education for the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.

William also volunteered for many years at Children's Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio, and was a docent at Cincinnati Museum of Natural History.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Thompson Bell, his parents Ralph Bell and Ethel Woodson Bell. He is survived by daughter's, Patricia Simon of Centerville, Ohio and Kathleen Rifugiato of Murrysville, Pa, son, William T. Bell of Sarasota, Fla, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, September 2, 2007 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Richard Johnson, 73, Cincinnati

Richard Johnson, 73, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Vitas Hospice Unit in Eaton, Ohio.

Richard was born in Colombus, Ohio on June 24, 1934. The son of the late George Washington and Stella May Pittman Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Roberta, son Chuck Scalf, daughters Angela Doll, Erma Johnson and Stella Bryant of Cincinnati, Oh, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth. Final resting place Riverside Cemetery in Falmouth.

 

Jacob Teegarden, Infant, Brooksville

Jacob Andrew Teegarden, infant son of Anthony Wayne Jr., and Brandy Brumley Teegarden of Brooksville, Ky was stillborn Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Meadow view Regional Medical Center in Maysville. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Carolyn Reed Brumley, Erma and Tom Adams, Earl and Dorothy Shoemaker and Ruth Teegarden.

Besides his parents, infant Jacob is survived by his sister, Carolyn Marie Teegarden, a twin brother, Thomas Edward Teegarden, grandparents Brian and Patty Shoemaker Brumley and Wayne Sr. and Brenda Adams Teegarden and great grandparents, Neil Brumley and Donald Teegarden, all of Brooksville.

Burial Services were held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Bracken Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Brian Brumley.

Wanda Wainscott, 60, Falmouth

Wanda Sue Wainscott, 60 of Falmouth, Ky passed away Friday August 31, 2007 at her home after a long illness.

Wanda was a former employee of Hammer Strength in Falmouth.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Richard Wainscott, and three sons, Rick Wainscott of Berry, Daniel Wainscott and William Wainscott both of Falmouth.

Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family.

Woodhead Funeral Home of Falmouth served the family.

 

Allen L Griffin, 81, Alexandria

Allen L. Griffin, Jr. age 81 of Alexandria, Ky, passed away Tuesday September 4, 2007 at Saint Elizabeth Medical Edgewood, Ky. Born in New York City to Allen Griffin Sr, and Harriet Downing Griffin, Alan served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He served in the South Pacific and later in China with the Occupation Forces until 1946. In 1949, he joined the Nassau County NY Police Dept where he served until his retirement as Lieutenant in 1972. While on the force, Al founded the police department drum and bugle corps, played bariton horn with the New York Skyliners national champion drum and bugle corps, and the champion Sunrisers drum and bugle corps.

Al relocated his family to Ohio, where he was Chief of Police in Blue Ash, and then to Kentucky as Chief in Highland Heights.

Al is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Elizabeth Brown Griffin, and daughter, Marianne Griffin Mark Schmitt of Cincinnati, Laura Kenneth Ardry of Santa Barbara, Calif, Douglas Nancy Weaver Griffin of W. Harrison, Ind, Robert Griffin of Kenner, La, and Jane Poynter of Newport, Ky, and 8 grandchildren. Al was preceded in death by grandchild, Timothy.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Alexandria.

 

Sandra DiSilvestro, 44, Edgewood

Sandra Kay DiSilvestro, 44 of Crittenden, Ky passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, South, Edgewood.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Bill DiSilvestro, two daughters, Tabitha Moening of Independence, Christina Morehead of Southgate, son Michael DiSilvestro of Crittenden, parents, Tom Combs and Phyllis Combs of Florence, sister Cindy Combs Peterson of Crittenden and brother Jessie Combs of Dry Ridge, and two grandchildren.

Visitation was held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden. Burial services were held at New Vine Run Cemetery, Dryridge.

 

Leo Fryman, 58, Cincinnati, Ohio

Leo P. Fryman, 58 of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Pendleton County passed away Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the Mercy Hospital. He was the son of the late Kenzie Fryman and Helen Jenkins Fryman.

A member of the Concord Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Army, Leo was survived by his wife, Margaret, 3 sons, Kenzie and Jason Fryman both of Cincinnati, and Leo Fryman of Kentucky, and 3 daughters, Kelly and Kathy Fryman both of Cincinnati, and Melody Fryman of Kentucky, and brothers Delmer Fryman of Williamsburg and Douglas Fryman of Kentucky, and sister Mary Kerr of Cincinnati, and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Dallas and David Fryman.

Visitation Service will be held, Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Peoples Funeral Home, Falmouth, followed by Funeral Service at 3 p.m Final resting place at Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.
