"W.C." Klee, 86, Falmouth

William Carton "W.C." Klee, Jr., 86, Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away, August 11, 2007, at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Ky. Born May 9, 1921 in Pendleton County, he was a son of the late William Carton and Sallie Brownfield Klee, Sr. He graduated from Falmouth High School. He married Opal Cordray Klee, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ray Klee, who gave his life for his country in Italy during World War II in the U.S. Army.

"W.C.", as he was best known, operated the former Falmouth IGA and the former Mainstreet Food Market in Brooksville. He was a retired meat cutter and a farmer. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and he was a member of the Hardin-Browning Post #109 in Falmouth. As an avid sportsman, he loved fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his four sons: David (Sharma) Klee, Georgetown, Joe (Sandy) Klee, Covington, Bill (Sharon) Klee, Indianapolis, Ind, and Steve (Jackie) Klee, Yuma, Colo.; one daughter, Jeannie (Mike) Brown, Denver, Iowa; 9 grandchildren: Mark, Kandy, Jason, Nick, Hannah, Karla, Logan, Ryan, and Allison; and 9 great grandchildren; and one brother, Paul V. (Marge) Klee, Sr., Ft. Mitchell.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2007, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, Falmouth, with Rev. Louis Dickmann officiating. The pallbearers will be Mark Klee, Tim Crabb, Jason Klee, Nick Klee, Logan Brown, and Ryan Brown. The honorary pallbearers will be Kandy Crabb, Hannah Klee, Karla Klee, and Allison Brown. The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109, will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Falmouth.

Wanda Harper, 82, Falmouth

Wanda Harper, 82, Falmouth, passed away August 6, 2007 at the Grand Haven Nursing Home in Cynthiana. Wanda was born June 25, 1925 in Pendleton County to the late Berry Newton and Clema Tina Hill Wilson. She married Kenneth Harper in 1942 and he survives her passing. Mrs. Harper was a retired clerk from Houchen's Clothes and Shoes in Falmouth and was also a member of the Oakland Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her daughter: Beverly J. Price; one grandson, Travis Harper; two brothers, Herbert Wilson and Holton Wilson; and three sisters, Marcella Kelly, Edna Koch, and Sue Browning.

In addition to her husband of 64 years, Kenneth, she is survived by two sons, Stephen (Pamela) Harper and Phillip (Margaret) Harper, both of Falmouth. 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren sisters: Bonnie Kavanaugh, Falmouth and Ruby Bentle, Pennsylvania; and one brother, Sonny Wilson, Dry Ridge.

Funeral services were held August 9, 2007 at the Woodhead Funeral Home with Bro. John Byard officiating. Music was shared by Brenda Montgomery. The pallbearers were Kent Price, Danny Brooks, Scott Harper, Trent Harper, Aaron Harper and Jonathan Thornberry. The honorary pallbearers were Larry Aulick, Larry Fletcher, Danny Flynn, Eric Miles, Dale Miles, Larry Powell, Danny Powell, Jim Montgomery and Gene Flaugher.
Interment took place at Oakland Cemetery.

Robert Daniels, 84, Butler

Robert Daniels, 84, Butler, passed away August 8, 2007 at his home. He was a retired welder for The American Laundry Machinery in Norwood, Ohio and was a WWII Army veteran.

Survivors include: wife, Millie Daniels; 3 sons, Phillip Daniels, Falmouth, Dan Daniels, Lynchburg, Ohio, and Garry Daniels, Cincinati, Ohio; 2 daughters, Leora Kidd, Cincinnati, Rebecca Sullivan, Lakeland, Fla; 2 stepsons, William Proctor, Phoenix, Arizona, Jesse Proctor, Butler; 2 step daughters, Bridgette Siedenberg, Williamstown, Trina Combs, Miamisburg, Ohio; sister, Winford Kidd, Stafford, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held August 11, 2007 at Cooper's Funeral Home.

Interment took place at The Broadridge Cemetery in Dry Ridge, Ky.

 

Libby Riddell McKenney, 82, Florence

Libby Riddell McKenney, 82, Florence passed away August 10, 2007 at St. Luke Hospital West. She was a Campbell Insurance Agency agent. She was also a member of the Hopeful Lutheran Church and was a Preschool Teachers Aid for Hopeful Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death was her first husband, Louis Cecil Riddell.

Survivors include: husband, Chuck McKenney, Florence; son, Rick Riddell, Erlanger; daughter, Sherry Walters, Union; sister, Mary Ella Stark, Summitt, Ind; brothers, Robert Zimmerman, Florence, Harold Zimmerman, Burlington, Marvin Zimmerman, Erlanger; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held August 14, 2007 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hopeful Lutheran Church. Funeral Service will begin at 1 p.m.

Interment will take place at the Hopeful Lutheran Cemetery.

Mabel Ballinger, 79, Covington

Mabel Ballinger, 79, Covington, passed away in July at Mercy-Western Hills Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Mabel was devoted to the Democratic Party throughout her life which was easily seen in her dozens of photos. Mostly in black and white Mabel posed with democrats such as Bill and Hillary Clinton, former Sen. Wendell Ford, former Gov. Paul Patton, former state legislator Terry Mann, and others. She was honored with a lifetime achievement award from the Kenton County Democratic Club.

 

Roger Clifford, 73, Butler

Roger L. Clifford, 73, Butler, Ky passed away August 11, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 22, 1934 in Harrison County to the late C.L. & Grace Perkins Clifford. Mr. Clifford was a member of the Falmouth Wesleyan Church, A U.S. Army Veteran, a farmer, a director of the Pendleton County Farm Bureau and a former Kincaid Lake board member.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet Clifford and a brother, Todd Clifford.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Fay Ramsey Clifford; son, Doug Clifford, Cynthiana; daughters, Vicki Alford, Falmouth, Bethany Clifford, Butler. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Amanda Lewis and James Clifford.

Visitation was Monday, August 13, 2007 at Woodhood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at the funeral home. Interment with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109 Falmouth will take place in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
