Dwayne "Pie" Jett, 69, Brooksville

Dwayne "Pie" Jett, 69, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008 at Markey Cancer Center. He was the son of the late Fay and Elsie Keene Jett.

He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Haitz Jett whom he married January 21, 1961 and a brother, Kenneth Jett He was the Bracken County Judge Executive for 21 years and the Bracken County Sheriff for eight years before that. He was a member of Buffalo Trace Board of Directors, served on the Board of Directors of Comprehend, president of Kentucky Judges Assoc in 1990, Board of Directors at Bank of Germantown, Lions Club, Fish & Game Club, past president of KAACO, and a member of St. James Catholic Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Durand) Moffett of Ripley, Ohio; two grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Black and Trevor Moffett, and two great-grandchildren, Bryan and Andrew; a brother, Roy Allen (Joan) Jett of Germantown, Ky, a sister-in-law, Opal Jett of Brooksville and a mother-in-law, Dorothy Haitz of Ripley. Funeral Mass was held, Saturday, June 14, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church in Brooksville. Burial took place at St. James Cemetery. Martha Poynter, 78, Cincinnati

Martha Poynter, 78, of Cincinnati, formerly of Brooksville, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2008. She was born on March 1, 1930 to the late Harold and Della Kiskaden Grigson.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers Dorothy Bowling, Evelyn Grigson, Raymond Grigson, and Harold Grigson.

Martha is survived by her daughters, Polly Kahny, Gemena Welling, and Kathy Laug all of Cincinnati; two sisters, Rubye Kalb of Brooksville, Sylvia Vice of Flemingsburg; a brother, Gene Grigson of Maysville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ernest E. Tollner, 81, Fla.

Ernest E Tollner, 81, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of the Fernleaf Community in Mason Co., passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Parrish Medical Center in Titusville. He was the son of the late John C. and Elizabeth Dodson Tollner. He was a retired farmer and landowner and a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Augusta.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Henderson Tollner; a brother, John D. Tollner and two sister-in-laws, Lucille W. Tollner and Esther K. Tollner.

Ernest is survived by his son, Ernest W. Tollner (Caren) of Bogart, Ga.; daughters, Pa-tricia T. Hurley (Tom) of Titusville, Fla., Martha T. Caldeo (Cesar - Deceased) of Titusville, Fla., Mary T. Dildine (Bob) of New Knoxville, Ohio, Sarah T. Miller (Rodney) of Lexington, S.C. and Rebecca T. Cooper (Jim) of Charleston, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Mark Aaron Caldeo, David Thomas Hurley, Jonathon B. Hurley, Rachel Elizabeth Hurley, Hannah Dildine, Moriah Dildine and Dawna Cooper; sisters, Freda Hill (Harry) of Loveland, Ohio and Anna Tollner of Cincinnati.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 9:30-11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 180 Augusta-Chatham Rd., Augusta, Ky.

Funeral services will follow also at the church. Burial will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Augusta.

Donald Dawson, 88, Alexandria

Donald William Dawson, 88, passed away Tuesday at his sister's home in Alexandria.

He worked as an indpendent truck driver for fifty years and also did some farming.

His parents were the late Goebel Dawson and Viola Smith Dawson.

His wife, Louise Elizabeth Stumf Dawson, passed away in January 2007.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Lou Dawson of Florence, brother John Dawson, of Alexandria, sister Delma Usher, of Alexandria, and 10 neices and nephews.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Terry L. Lowen, 58, Covington

Terry L. Lowen "Huckel T. Berry" (stage name) 58, of Covington, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 at a friends house in Boone County.

He was the son of the late Carl and Rachael Jackson Lowen. He was a professional bass player musician of the "1963 Finder Precision Bass."

Terry is survived by his son, Eric Tedesco of Boston, Mass.; a brother, Michael Hockenberry of Taylor Mill; a sister, Cindy Hamm of Union and three grandchildren.

Services will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at 1st Baptist Church in Ludlow. Peoples Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
