
Wiley Stewart, 58, Verona
Wiley B. Stewart, 58, of Verona, Ky., passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2006 at St. Luke Hospital West in Florence. He was born on January 9, 1948 in Barbourville, Ky., son of the late Butler Stewart and Myrtle Hensley Stewart. He married Marjorie Reed Stewart and his dear wife survives his passing. He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church where he was a member and chairman of the Baptist Church Bus Ministry and a former Church trustee. He worked as a mechanic at Korner Auto Sales and was a former truck driver for United Van Lines.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Reed Stewart of Verona; sons Lindsey Stewart of Cincinnati, Mike Stewart of Falmouth, Eddie Stewart of Florence, Lennie Stewart of Verona and Ernest Stewart of Holts Summit, Mo; daughters, Monica Brown of Falmouth, Angela Robinson of Dry Ridge, Rebecca Jewell of Verona, Kathy McDannold of Florence, Heather Stewart of Verona, Shirley Carr of Falmouth and Darlene Stewart of Verona; his mother, Myrtle Hensley of London, Ky.; and a sister, Gertie Huff of Norwood, Ohio; 15 granchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Verona by Rev. George Naylor. The visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, also at the church. Interment will take place in the New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, Ky.
Frances McClanahan, 90, Falmouth
Frances McClanahan, 90, of Falmouth, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Bracken County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Augusta, Ky.
She was born in Bracken County on January 17, 1916, daughter of the late Lewis and Lena Townsley KonKright. She formerly worked at Marschman Dairy farm, and she was a housewife and farmer. She was also a member of Fairview Christian Church. She married Lossie McClahahan, and her husband preceded her in death on March 2, 2006. A son, Donald Miller and a daughter, Helen Joyce Parsons, preceded her, as well as brothers and sisters, Raymond, Gilbert, Stanley, Edith and Elmer KonKright.
Survivors include a son, Steve McClanahan of Falmouth; and a daughter, Lena Harrison of Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31 at Moore and Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. on October 31, also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Johnsville Cemetery.
Irene Lippincott, 84, Lexington
Irene Payne Toole Lippincott age 84 and the former wife of Sam Toole and the widow of Mitchell Lippincott passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006. She was born in Williamstown, Ky., on March 28, 1922, daughter of the late Bertram and Ninnie Minervia Thomas Payne. She was a graduate of Williamstown High School and a former employee of the University of Kentucky Medical Center and a retired employee of H&R Block of Georgetown. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of Georgetown.
Survivors include a son, Wayne (Cheryl) Toole of Falmouth; daughters, Sharon Toole (Dennis) Lanham and Ruth Ann Toole (Mike) Luttrell both of Lexington, Ky; sister-in-law, Rosemary Payne of Independence; grandchildren, Maggie Toole, Kelli (Brandon) Williams, Tony Pelfrey, Kimberly (George) Novak, Troy (Barbie) Pelfrey, Tammy Carter, Douglas (Angie) Lanham, Michael Lewis Luttrell Jr., Tracy (Mike) Adams; special daughter-in-law, Devon Williams; great grandchildren, Katlyn Nichole Williams, Mason Lee Williams, Coleman Pelfrey, Zachary Pelfrey, Stacy Carter, Devon Carter, Hannah Carter, Justin and Jordan Lane, Christopher Michael Luttrell, Rene McQueen, William Arthur Luttrell, Jazmin Luttrell, Heligh Miller; great-grandchildren, Michael Luttrell III and Holly Lynn Luttrell. The family wishes to make a special acknowledgement to their mother's caregivers, Alice Brumfield, Lorraine Hawkins, Barbara Lane and Charlotte Phillips. She was preceded in death by a brother and great-granddaughter, Raymond Payne and Ashley Nicole Pelfrey.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Charles Washam officiating, interment will follow on the church grounds. Visitation will be from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home.

Gladys Frederick, 61, Augusta
Gladys Elaine Frederick, 61, of Augusta, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2006 at her residence. She was a homemaker. She was born on August 22, 1945, daughter of the late Fred and Mary Boling Applegate. She married Richard Frederick and her husband preceded her in death on October 10, 1999. Brothers, Delbert, Thomas and Cecil Applegate and a sister, Bessie Meyer, also preceded her.
Survivors include sons, Ricky (Tracie) Frederick and Sherman (Sheila) Frederick, both of Augusta; brothers, Stanley Applegate, Ronnie Applegate, Kenneth Applegate, Robert Applegate, Donald Applegate, Harold Applegate and Fred Applegate; sisters, Delores Hicks, Frances Brooks, Eilleen Baily, and Judy Sweet; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 30, 2006 at Moore and Parker Funeral Home in Augusta. Interment will take place in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Augusta.
Albert Showalter, 76, Crittenden
Albert Graham Showalter, 76, of Crittenden, Ky., passed away on October 24, 2006 at St. Luke Hospital in Florence, Ky. He was a former factory worker at Equitable Bag and formerly worked at Signode, Kroger Meat Packaging Co., and Wadsworth Electric. He was also member of the First Baptist Church in Walton, where he formerly sang in the choir and served on various committees. Mr. Showalter never met a stranger, and loved to cook and eat.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jean Boyers Showalter of Crittenden; a daughter, Angela Garnetta Verax of Walton and a sister, Margaret Bay, Brookville; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on October 28, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Walton. Interment took place at the Battle Grove Cemetery in Cynthiana.
