
Bonnie McCauley, 46, S. Carolina
Bonnie Sue Deskins McCauley, 46, of Sumter, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2006, from injuries received in an automobile accident. Born in Ottawa, Kansas, on November 21, 1959, she was a daughter of Gary P. Deskins and the late Judy Carlson Magnuson.
Mrs. McCauley was a member of Northside Memorial Baptist Church and a volunteer at Pocalla Springs Elementary School where she was a member of the school Improvement Council. She was named Volunteer Parent of the Year in 2004 and State PTA Volunteer of the Year in 2005. She was the owner and operator of Southern Gels Candle Making Company.
Surviving are her husband, Timothy Alan McCauley; her father, Gary P. Deskins of Melvern, Kansas; one son, Adam Roland Boxley McCauley of Sumter; one daughter, Destiny Moriah McCauley of Sumter; two brothers, Garry B. Deskins of Wilsonville, Oregon and Matt G. Deskins of Macon, Georgia; two sisters, Kathy Arb of Osage City, Kansas and Julie Harries of Topeka, Kansas; her father-in-law, Leroy B. McCauley of Cynthiana, Kentucky; and two sister-in-laws: Judy (John) Hetterman of Owenton, Kentucky and Patty (Brian) House of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Herbert R. Magnuson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at the Cynthiana Christian Church, 202 N. Main Street, Cynthiana, Kentucky, with Dr. Tim Teater officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Interment will take place in the Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana.

Otto Fries, 89, California
Otto Fries, 89, of California, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at St. Luke Hospital East in Ft. Thomas. He was born in Wittersheim, Germany on September 20, 1917, son of the late Joseph and Rosa Fries. He was a farmer, a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sun Valley Seniors and Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Iles and Minnie Butsch.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Emminger Fries of California; sons Michael Fries of Florence and Lester Fries of California; a daughter, Ramona Singer of Frankfort; grandchildren Lori Fries, Lacey Huffmire, Tessa Fries, Beth Crowder, Jeni Hammond and Missy Christiansen; great-grandchildren, Denon Fries, Kyton Joseph, Kelsey Christ-iansen, Brent Christiansen, Seth Christiansen, Molly Christiansen, Mackensie Crowder and Cody Crowder.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Interment will take place in the Alexandria Cemetery, Alexandria, Ky.
Michael Gay Jr., infant, Falmouth
Michael Lee Gay Jr., seven weeks old, of Falmouth, Ky., passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at St. Luke East Hospital in Ft. Thomas.
He was born in Edgewood, Ky., on August 28, 2006, son of Michael Lee Gay and Ruth Cain.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Gabriel Cain and a sister, Michaela Leann Gay, both of Falmouth.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the Butler Cemetery, Butler, Ky., under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.
William A. Littleton, 20, Foster
William Alexander Littleton, 20, of Foster, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He was born in Campbell County on September 8, 1986, son of Larry G. and Beverly J. Fryman Littleton of Foster. He was a cell leader for Meyer Tool.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters and a brother, Heather (Jamie) Clos and Amy (Bill) Thornton, both of Brooksville, and Chase (Laura) Littleton of Foster and a brother-at-heart, Michael (Erin) Puccini of Ft. Carson, Colorado, currently serving in Iraq.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25 at Moore & Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 26 also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Augusta.

Howard J. Best, 85, Taylor Mill
Howard Jacob Best, 85, of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2006, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood. Born on October 15, 1921 in Latonia, Kentucky, he was the son of George and Rosa Burk Best. He married Marcella (Marcy) O'Hara Best on June 20, 1946, and his dear wife survives his passing. For 25 years he worked as a mail sorter at the Cincinnati Union Terminal. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Battle of Remagen and the Battle of the Bulge, as part of Co. A 14th Tank Battalion. In August of 2006 he was honored to place the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, Virginia. He was a member of St. Augustine Church in Covington, and a 65 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Dayton, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Deborah Jean Best on January 17, 2003.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Marcella Best, he is survived by two sons: Michael Best of Covington and George (Dorothy) Best of Lakeside Park; 5 grandchildren: Steven Best, Kathryn (Tom) Gerth, Tiffany Best, Gregory Best, and Kimberly Best; 4 great grandchildren: Amanda, Dakota, Alexis, Elizabeth; his sister, Barbara Colwell of Ft. Wright; and family friend, Pat Fuller of Villa Hills, Kentucky.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, October 26, 2006, 2006, at St. Augustine Church, 1839 Euclid Avenue, Covington, Kentucky. The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, 917 Main Street, Covington. Interment with full military honors by the Hardin-Browning Post #109 will take place in the Mother of God Cemetery, Covington.

Betty Tirey, 75, Florence
Betty June Tirey, 75, of Florence, Ky., passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2006 at her residence. Born on June 20, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Aleene Limerick Ryan. She was retired from American Greetings and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She is survived by a daughter; Billie Jean Owens of Florence, Ky., 2 sons; Harry Wayne Pinkerton of Florence, Ky., Bradley Foster Tirey of Corbin, Ky., 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 3 brothers; Wilson Ryan, John Henry Ryan, Nathan Thomas Ryan, and 3 sisters; Mary Jane Mason, Patsy Bell Seyfried, and Crystal Joyce Ryan.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 23, 2006 at Woodhead Funeral Home in Falmouth. Interment took place in the Pythian Grove Cemetery, Berry, Ky.. Serving as pallbearers were Wayne Pinkerton, Brad Tirey, Wilson Ryan, David Pinkerton, Richie Coots and Tom Ryan. Honorary pallbearers were Don Sutton, Charles Owen, Chris Meconin and Bert Mason.
Ryan David Case, 25, Dry Ridge
Ryan David Case, 25, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2006 in an industrial accident. He was born in Pikeville, Ky., on March 13, 1981, son of Ed Clemons and Sharon Clemons. He married Briana Case and his dear wife survives his passing. He was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church and was a truck driver for Len Riegler Blacktopping.
Besides his parents and wife, other survivors include paternal grandfather and grandmother, Rick Stephens and Ann Stephens, both of Dry Ridge; maternal grandfather and grandmother, John Akers and Annie Akers, both of Pikeville; maternal great-grandmother Wilda Smith of Pikeville; brothers Rickie Joe Case of Florence and Shane Case of Pikeville; and sisters, Misty Mason, Francesca Case and Deanna Clemons, all of Dry Ridge.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown by Bro. Mike Flynn. Interment took place in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Walker L. Buckler, 79, Florida
Walker Lemul Buckler, 79, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at his residence in Seffner, Florida. He was a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his companion, Ima Jean Carmony; a daughter, Onalee Buckler of Seffner; brothers, Dan Buckler of California, Ky., and Fred Buckler of Alexandria; sisters, Dorothy Blum and Elsie Fink, both of Fairfield, Ohio, and Opal Waters and Evy Buckler, both of Alexandria; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Cooper Funeral Home in Grant's Lick. Interment took place in the Grandview Cemetery, Mentor.
Dwayne E. Hale, 47, Alexandria
Dwayne Everett Hale, 47, of Alexandria, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006 at his residence. He was in building maintenance at Gettysburg Square Apartments in Ft. Thomas, Ky.
Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Hale; his mother, Lois Hale of Highland Heights; a son, Dwayne E. Hale II of Butler; sisters, Diane Ashcraft of Elsmere, Teresa Adkins, Karen Hale and Lisa Tilley, all of Newport and Sheila Greatorex of Highland Heights; and a brother, Jeffrey Hale of Ft. Hood, Texas.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, October 16, 2006 at Cooper Funeral Home in Grant's Lick. Interment took place at the Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate.
Ralph J. Hopper, 63, Alexandria
Ralph J. Hopper, 63, of Alexandria, Ky., formerly of Pendleton County, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2006 at his home. He was born on November 19, 1942, son of the late Ralph and Katherine Cook Hopper. He was preceded in death by a sister Dottie Losey and a brother Russell Hopper. He married Mina Fay Hopper on February 16, 1977 and his wife survives his passing. He was a United States Navy veteran.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Jerry Allen (Kimberly) Hopper of Beech- mont, Ohio; a daughter, Shirley Mae Hopper of Dry Ridge; stepdaughters, Stacey Pharo of Blue Ash, Ohio and Julie Pharo of Beechmont, Ohio; brothers, Shelby Hopper of Newport, Monty Hopper of Bellevue and Ronnie Hopper of Erlanger; sisters, Nancy Light of Ohio, Lynn Fessler of Erlanger and Hilda Diege of Ohio; and grandchildren, Hailey O'Nan, Bryce Spencer, Katrina Hopper and Luke Hopper.
Graveside funeral services were held on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at the Butler Cemetery, Pendleton County. Peoples Funeral Home, Butler, served the family.
