
Fran Pangburn, 63, Falmouth
Fran (Grandma) Pangburn, 63, of Peach Grove, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at St. Luke Hospital East. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 10, 1943, daughter of Lester and Kathryn Etter. She married Bill Pangburn and her dear husband survives her passing. She was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Lester Etter. She was a member of the Second Twelve Mile Church and a member of the North Pendleton and Eastern Campbell Fire Departments. She was a part of the Pendleton County Football Boosters and a member of the Pendleton County Homemakers. She was an avid Pendleton County sports fan. Grandma Fran was one of the biggest Wildcat football and basketball fans around. She was there to cheer them on, always with a smile. Of course her grandson, Michael McNay played for the football team but she would cheer just as hard for the other players too. She will be missed by all the fans and athletes of Pendleton County.
Other survivors include a step-son, Mark Pangburn of Cold Spring, Ky; daughters, Karen Pyles of California, Ky., and Connie Stegman of Falmouth; step-daughters, Lisa Smith and Amy Shepard, both of Alexandria and Debbie Gillespie of California; a sister, Ann Boyce of Delhi, Ohio; grandchildren, Shelly Baker, Renee Stegman, Michael McNay, Kayla McNay, Ryan Stegman, Taylor Lea and Hunter Lea; and great-grandchildren, Nicolas Pyles and Nathan Baker.
Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 5, also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Peach Grove Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Center at St. Luke Hospital East.

Garnet Fredrick, 71, Morgan
Garnet Fredrick, 71, of Morgan, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at the River Valley Nursing Home in Butler, Ky. She was born in Kentucky on May 13, 1935, daughter of the late George and Louella Emminger Tucker. She was a member of the Roanoke Christian Church. She married Elmer Fredrick on March 5, 1952, and her husband preceded her in death on January 23, 1990. A brother, Jr. Tucker and a sister, Carol Tucker, also preceded her.
Survivors include sons Lewis Fredrick and Danny Fredrick, both of Falmouth, and Norman Fredrick of Berry; a daughter, Ava Johnson of Williamstown; brothers, Arnold Tucker of Walton, Ray Tucker of Dayton, Ky., and Kenneth Tucker of Cold Spring, Ky.; sisters, Violet Sizemore of Ft. Thomas, Faye Lynch of Newport and Wanda Lack of Ohio; and one grandchild, Emily Johnson.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, September 29, 2006 at Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth. Interment took place in the Morgan Cemetery, Pendleton County, Kentucky.

Alma F. Hurst, 89, Butler
Alma F. Hurst, 89, of Butler, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2006, at River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. She was born in Pendleton County on July 17, 1917, daughter of the late John and Nellie LaFollette McMillian. He was a homemaker. Her husband, Henry Hurst preceded her in death. She was also preceded by a daughter, Ruby Pauline Fornash and sisters, Ruby Elliott and Lucy Crouch.
Survivors include a son, John Roberts of Butler; sisters, Opel Sargent of Florence and Clarice Auchter of Falmouth; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Gardnersville Cemetery, Pendleton County.

Ronald Ferguson, 68, Falmouth
Ronald Ferguson, 68, of Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2006 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit. He was born in Ironton, Ohio, on August 29, 1938, son of Harrison and Julia Ferguson. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Covington, Ky. He was preceded in death by 17 brothers and sisters, and a step-daughter, Debbie Gregg.
Survivors include sons, Rick Ferguson and Rob Ferguson, both of Ironton; a daughter, Rhonda (Jim) Colegrove of Ironton; a stepson, Gary Florence of Falmouth; grandchildren, Jay and Andy Colegrove, Hannah, Nick, Dyllan, Chris, Candice, Adam and Lindsey Ferguson, all of Ironton, Joshua Gregg, Tasha Daugherty, Casey Pugh and Cory Florence, all of Falmouth; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; siblings Lucille Dotson of Hanging Rock, Ohio, George Ferguson of Mansfield, Ohio, Patty Heminger of Orlando, Fla., and Dick Ferguson of Galion, Ohio.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Sharon Baptist Church in Ironton, Ohio, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home.

Willetta Williams, 62, of Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born in Kentucky on August 12, 1944, daughter of the late Willard and Anna Courtney Owens. She was a homemaker and attended Antioch Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Williams Sr., and a sister, Pat Thomas.
Survivors include sons, Marvin Williams Jr., Merle Williams and Billy Williams, all of Falmouth; daughters, Cindy Morgan of Cynthiana and Dinah Newman of Falmouth; sisters Kay Smith of Falmouth and Barb Owens of Detroit, Michigan; her mother-in-law, AnnaLee Williams of Butler; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Peoples Funeral Home in Falmouth. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

Deborah Cullum, 52, of Highland Heights, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2006 at her home. She was a clerk for CitiBank in Erlanger.
Survivors include a daughter, Lindsay Cullum of Cold Spring; sisters, Judy Frommeyer of Bellevue, Sharon Batchelor of Amelia, Ohio, Robin Merrill of Newport and Kim Gardner of Cold Spring; brothers, Garry Gabbard of Cold Spring, Doug Gabbard of Erlanger and Cam Gabbard of Columbus, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Cold Spring. Interment will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery in Ft. Thomas, Ky. Cooper Funeral Home, Grants Lick, served the family.

Marilyn Verax, 61, of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at her home. She was a customer service representative of National City Bank, a volunteer at Carmel Manor Nursing Home and a member of the St. Thomas Fifty Five Club. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Verax.
Survivors include her father, William A. Verax, Jr.; sisters, Margie Ann Kidney (Frank) of Alexandria, Ky., Pat Krebs (Norb) of Cold Spring, Vickie Kraemer (Dan) of Independence; brother, Dr. William J. Verax III (Roseanne) of Falmouth; nine nieces and nephews; seven great nieces and nephews; dear friend Ruthie Matt Stein of Louisiana.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home in Ft. Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Church in Ft. Thomas. Interment will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joey Verax, Josh Kidney, Norbie Krebs, Brad Kraemer, Jason Kraemer, Bob Bartlett, Dana Wells and Roy Riegler.

Harley M. Fogle, 79, Newport
Harley M. Fogle, 79, of Newport, Ky., formerly of Pendleton County, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2006 in the Hospice Care Center of Northern Kentucky at St. Luke East Hospital. Born on September 26, 1927, he was a son of the late Willie and Emma Bell Flynn Fogle. He was preceded in death by his wife; Elda Katherine Fogle. He was a retired steelworker.
He is survived by 1 son; Gary Fogle of Covington, Ky., and 2 sisters; Thelma Mardis of Newport, Ky., and Evelyn Miles of Park Hills, Ky.
Graveside services were held on Monday, October 2, 2006 at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Pendleton County with Rev. Don Mays officiating. Interment took place at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Pendleton County.
