Blanche Barber, 86, N. Kentucky

Blanche Knight Noelker Barber, 86, of Northern Kentucky, passed away on January 21, 2007. She was born in Covington, Ky., on January 31, 1920, daughter of the late Erma and Bill Knight. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Mitchell Noelker and a daughter, Beverly Crow. She had worked at General Electric, making airplane parts for the World War II effort. She also worked at Swan Floral Shop.

Survivors include her husband, Omer Clay Barber; a son, Robert "Skip" (Judy) Noelker ; grandchildren, Christy Ganshirt, Lori Noelker, Bill Noelker, Amy Crow and Robb Crow; great-grandchildren, Jacob Ganshirt, Seth Ganshirt, Oliver Ganshirt, Luke Ganshirt, Emma Ganshirt, Emily Noelker, Katie Noelker, Rob Noelker, Chloe Baker and Julian Crow.

Frances Corbin, 84, Butler

Frances Butler Corbin, 84, of Butler, Ky., passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at River Valley Nursing Home. She was born in Mancos, Colorado on September 6, 1922, daughter of the late David Homer and Malinda Jenkins Butler. She was a homemaker, member of the Butler Baptist Church, the Grant's Lick Baptist Church and Pendleton County Homemakers. She married William Corbin on August 2, 1946, and her husband preceded her in death on September 16, 1996.

Survivors include sons, David (Joyce) Corbin of Lexington and Billy Corbin of Butler; brothers, Virgil (Eleanor) Butler of Hamilton, Ohio, and Luther (Jo) Butler of Stevenville, Texas; a sister, Vera (Glenn) Ullom of Colorado Springs, Colo; grandchildren, Leigh (Greg) Hombirg and William Evan Corbin; and one great-grandchild, Ryleigh Hombirg.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, January 27 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler officiated by Glenn Chastine. Musical selections performed by Sonja Barnard and Fran Marksberry included, "It Is Well With My Soul," and "I Must Tell Jesus." Serving as pallbearers were Evan Corbin, Glenn Chastine, Greg Hombirg, Tad Butler, Roger Clifford and Jack Gallagher. Honorary pallbearers were Stacy Dunn, Joyce McClanahan, Robert Miller, Pastor Steve Hankins, Pastor Elmo Peters and Robin Mulloy. Interment took place in the Butler Cemetery, Butler, Ky.

 

Nellie West, 86, Foster

Nellie West, 86, of Foster, Ky., passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007 in Ft. Thomas, Ky. She was a farmer. Born in Foster on October 5, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Isham and Lula Hamilton Courtney. She married Clarence Wilbert West on September 27, 1937, and her dear husband survives her passing. Brothers, Walter, Earnie and Henry Courtney preceded her in death, as well as sisters Mary Higgins and Daffie Courtney.

Funeral services were conducted on January 25, 2007 at Moore and Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville. Interment took place in the Johnsville Cemetery, Foster, Ky.

 

Judith Witte, 59, Camp Springs

Judith M. Witte, 59, of Camp Springs, Ky., passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007 at Highlands of Ft. Thomas. A programmer analyst with Rippe and Kingston, she was preceded in death by her father, Edward Witte.

Survivors include her mother, Margaret E. Witte of Camp Springs; a sister, Constance Witte of Cold Spring; a brother, Curtis Witte of Butler; and one nephew.

Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pk., Ft. Thomas, KY 41075 and/or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 6833 Four Mile Rd., Camp Springs, KY 41059. Fares J. Radel Funeral Home served the family.

 

Alma Cummins, 80, Covington

Alma Cummins, 80, of Covington, Ky., formerly of Falmouth, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include sisters, Esther Washburn of Covington, and Ruby Stoneking of Euless, Texas.

Graveside services were conducted on Saturday, January 27 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Pendleton County by Bro. Mike Flynn. Woodhead Funeral Home served the family.

 

Louise Dawson, 86, Florence

Louise Elizabeth Dawson, 86, of Florence, Ky., passed away on Monday, January 22, 2007 at St. Luke West Hospital in Florence. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Dawson of Alexandria; a daughter, Donna Lou Dawson of Florence; one niece and two nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Alexandria Funeral Home in Alexandria. Interment took place in the Alexandria Cemetery.
