The WEBN fireworks display photo above was taken by Photographer Jim Fausz and will be one of many on display at Conrad's Hardware this Friday and Saturday.

This photographer captured the almost impossible when he caught all five turtles with their heads out sunning on a log floating on the Licking River in Falmouth. Photo by Russ Conrad.
Classic photographs fit for framing at Conrad's; plus lots of stories to go along with them
By Debbie Dennie, Editor
Residents will have quite a bit to talk about this Holiday Season especially if they visit Conrad's Hardware and Gifts on Friday and Saturday, December 7 and 8.
Owner Russ Conrad greatly enjoys his hobby of capturing beautiful scenery of local landmarks, still life on land and on the Licking River along with some very interesting photos while vacationing in Africa, Europe and the British Isles.
There will be some old photos on display that were taken across the USA in the 1920s.
Several photographers got together chatting and thought they could offer residents a chance to look at their work and an opportunity to purchase ones that they like.
These photographs will make a family member, friend or one's self a great gift. They will ad much serenity and beauty to just about any wall in your home.
Conrad's son-in-law, James Fausz, a photographer, and James' father, Jim Fausz, who is retired from Provident Camera in Cincinnati, will also have many of their prints on display for purchase.
There will be some beautiful prints that Conrad's older brother Jerry has taken.
"If things go well with this photo exhibit, we will see about doing something like this more often," said Conrad.
Mr. Fausz teaches photography classes and anyone having questions concerning photos can stop and chat with them.
The store is located at 226 W. Shelby St., in Falmouth. Exhibit hours are Friday 4-9 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Photographs purchased will be done in time for Christmas giving.

Bobcat killed in McKenneysburg
While deer hunting on a farm in McKenneysburg during the early morning hours of Sunday, November 18, Steven Buckley and Tonia Browning came across a creature of a different sort. "We were watching some does out in the field and something scared them," said Browning. "They all just took off running. We thought maybe it could have been a coyote after them. Then we saw a bobcat come out of the brush. It stopped, looked at us, and charged our way. Steven raised his gun and shot it as it was coming toward us." The pair of hunters took the prize to Wells Market and had their photo taken with it. There have been two coyotes and one bobcat reported at the Wells' deer check station this year. This is an unusual kill for the Pendleton County area. The bobcat has been taken to a taxidermist and a full body mount will be done. Article by Jackie Vaughn.

Public hearing held on zoning ordinance; passed on to fiscal court to adopt
By Roger McKinney, Reporter
The Pendleton County Joint Planning Commission held a public hearing on November 26, 2007, where citizens voiced their thoughts regarding the proposed Pendleton County Zoning Ordinance. These eight people spoke in favor of the ordinance: Ron Moreland, Jim Cox, Jim Davis, Ed Sissel, Jack Wright, Brian Griffin and Roger Wafford. Some of these individuals had questions regarding the document's content and some recommended changes to its text map. All eight speakers expressed their appreciation for the hard work of the planning commission and pledged their support for the passage of the ordinance by the fiscal court.
One citizen spoke against the ordinance. Daniel Insko said he had not read the document, but based upon his experience zoning was not good for the county.
Pendleton County Judge Executive, Henry Bertram, spoke to the gathering and answered questions relating to the zoning process.
After the public hearing was concluded the planning commission agreed to meet December 17, in order to consider the recommended changes to the zoning ordinance and to decide how to proceed from that point.

As many may know, Shirley Merrill who plays Vera Sanders in the musical broke her hip just prior to the performance on Saturday, November 24. Despite the pain, she went on to perform the entire musical before going to the hospital where she underwent surgery. She is now recovering and doing well. Hats off to this fine lady of theatre!
Shirley has been with Kincaid Regional Theatre since its inception and has appeared in other productions of KRT as well as now serving as the theatre's general manager.
In the absence of "Mother Vera" the Sanders Family has been joined most graciously by Amanda Wells, a wonderfully talented actress whom many of you theatre goers will remember as "Marian, the Librarian" for KRT's summer production of "The Music Man."
Amanda will be appearing with "The Sanders Family" through its delightful and humorous rendition of an evening of worship and song, each member of the family singing in harmony with the others while playing his or her own musical instrument. All of this is set in the Family;s rural church just prior to Christmas, 1941.
So come out, see the play and catch the "Christmas Spirit" with the Sanders Family!
From the Board of Directors and staff of Kincaid Regional Theatre, may you all have a very blessed Christmas and New Year.
