Pendleton County emergency personnel responded to a four car, injury accident around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, September 28.
Chris Huggins, 43, Crittenden, operating a 1995 Chevrolet Lumina, was in the northbound lane of U.S. 27 preparing to make a left turn onto Hwy 17. Tom Zint, 23, Lawrenceberg, was following behind him in a 2004 Ford Ranger.
According to reports, Paul Joseph (P.J.) Haverbusch, 18, Butler, operating a Dodge Neon, was also traveling northbound at a high rate of speed. He was either attempting to go around the traffic ahead or was trying to avoid hitting the truck in front of him when he crossed the median and struck Kimberly Duncan head-on. Duncan, 40, Falmouth, was heading southbound in a 2000 Toyota Solara. Haverbusch's vehicle ricocheted off of Duncan's vehicle back into the northbound lane and then hit Huggins' Lumina in the rear. Fishing trip ends with one man drowned
What started out as a relaxing day of fishing soon turned to tragedy at Kincaid Lake State Park when a Falmouth man drowned after a boating accident, Monday, October 1.
Michael Pollard, 25, of Falmouth and Dustin Brown, 17, of Falmouth, were on the lake around 3:20 p.m. when their boat apparently hit something, causing them to capsize.
According to those first on the scene, Brown said both of them went underwater. He emerged from the lake okay, but Pollard never came back up.
A frantic Brown swam to shore and ran up a hill in a attempt to find help.
A couple visiting the park heard Brown yelling for assistance and notified 9-1-1. A gun was mentioned in the initial call to police causing many officers and medics to respond.
Pendleton County Sheriff Craig Peoples, Chief Deputy Sheriff Paul Vater, Deputy Sheriff Todd Dennie, Kentucky State Police Troopers Scott Lengle and David Holland, Pendleton County Ambulance Service, and TransCare were immediately en route to the park.
There was no gun involved though, only a distressed Brown

Pendleton County Ladycats Golf Team headed to state competition
Four years ago, a group of young ladies decided to play golf for the Pendleton Ladycats. Some were freshmen in high school, some were middle schoolers and some were still roaming the halls of Northern and Southern. Just minutes into their first practice, Coach Keith Smith asked them to pull out their drivers. They looked quizzically at him and Ashley Pugh asked, "What's a driver?" Four years later, the answer is one of the clubs that they rode to a Region 9 runner-up finish and a place in the KHSAA Girls Golf State Tournament in Bowling Green on October 4-6.
All season long, the ladies have been hitting bomb after bomb after bomb putting themselves in great position on the course. Tuesday in the KHSAA Region 9 Tournament those long drives paid off as the Ladycats shot a new (this is the 3rd time they have broken this record this year) school record for team score on 9 holes, shooting a 189 on the front nine and setting themselves up for the state qualifying finish. The Ladycats #1 through #4 golfers all finished in the 40's on the front nine with Elizabeth Eglian also having a strong round.
The Ladycats traversed the treacherous back nine at the Pendleton Country Club, not giving up any shots to their competitors, finishing strong and 9 strokes in front of 3rd place Madison Central.
