N.P. Fire District to hold special meeting
Wednesday, June 23

The Northern Pendleton Fire District will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23 at Station 1, located at 5900 Hwy. 154, Peach Grove. This meeting will discuss staffing and budget cuts. Everyone is encouraged to attend.


Flour Creek Community Children's Fair
Saturday, June 26

The Flour Creek Community will be holding a Children's Fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at the Flour Creek Community Center (behind Flour Creek Christian Church, 1109 Highway 177, East, Butler). The price is free!

Stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Children and their families will be able to visit various booths where they will learn personal health and safety practices and play fun games! Door prizes will be given away throughout the day. And all visitors are invited to tour the church and community center. A free picnic fare will be available to everyone including hot dogs, chips, lemonade and cookies. Be sure to bring your appetite for food, learning, fellowship and fun. The fair is for children and their families. Therefore no drop-offs allowed.


Benefit tractor cruise
Saturday, June 26

A benefit tractor cruise will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 26. The cruise will be approximately 45 miles starting at Southern Elementary School in Falmouth.

A participation fee of $10 will be assessed to cover expenses with the excess going to a fund for a three-month-old baby born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus benefits for medical expenses. There will be trailers with seats available for extra participates. Bring your snacks and drinks and enjoy the county scenery. Tractors must be able to maintain 11 m.p.h. A fanny flag is required and a full tank of gas is suggested for tractors.

Morgan Homecoming
Sunday, June 27

The Morgan Homecoming will be held Sunday, June 27 at the Morgan Christian Church, 88 Morgan Berry Road. Sunday school will be at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. At noon there will be a potluck meal with corn hole, 2 p.m. Jason/Sarah, and at 3 p.m. a dulcimer group will be performing. A hayride will be held Saturday evening at 5 p.m.


Monday, June 28

In 2010, the Kentucky rate for diagnosed diabetes was the seventh highest in the nation. This means that an estimated 318,000 adults in Kentucky are diagnosed with diabetes. The next class will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, June 28. In this class there will be discussion on different MAPS. Please call 654-3395 to RSVP.


Pendleton District Board meeting

The Pendleton County District Board will be meeting at the extension office at 6 p.m. directly followed by the Pendleton County Extension Board at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29.


Gospel Bluegrass Family coming to Pendleton County
Wednesday, June 30

The SPGBMA Award winning Punches Family from Fredericktown, MO is making a stop in Pendleton County for a free concert on their summer tour. They have been singing together for five years. Each member contributes vocally and instrumentally to the unique blend of bluegrass gospel music that appeal to a variety of audiences. This will be a great event in this county for our youth and adults.

The Punches Family won first place in Silver Dollar City's Youth & Bluegrass Band Contest in 2007 and SPBGMA's Entertaining Group of the Year in 2010. The family was also nominated for Contemporary Group of the Year in '09 and Gospel Band of the Year in '10.

Bruce, Bobette, and their children will be performing this year at places like Renfro Valley Opry and Singing in the Smokies. They have agreed to stop by Mt. Moriah Christian Church on Highway 17 at 7 p.m. on June 30 for concert.

They have been described by Pastor Carl Cureton of Calvary Temple Church as "Salt and Light, and a winning attitude, this family has it all!" Rhonda Vincent said, "Great Harmonies, hard driving, and very entertaining."

Pendleton County Youth Fair Community Worshop and Gospel Sing
Sunday, July 4

The Pendleton County Youth Fair Board would like to invite all churches of the county to come and enjoy a night of fellowship and good gospel music beginning at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 4 at the Griffin Centre at the fairgrounds. What could be a better way to start the week of the fair than to enjoy a night of fellowship and worship!

This event has kicked off the start of the fair with approximately 500 people in attendance and over 30 different local churches. This year you are in for a special treat!

We have some of the county's best men's singers like Wayne Keith, Jay Caldwell and Mitch Ruth of the former Gettin Ready Qt., Damascus Road, and 3-4-1 singing some of your favorite southern gospel songs like Midnight Cry and Oh What a Savior all together on stage like a men's choir. This concert was performed for a Relay For Life benefit and the response was so great we said we would like to do this again for those who missed out.

So come out and hear a great concert and fellowship with your friends from other churches in the county. Don't forget the church with the most people in attendance at the sing will receive 30% of the love offering for the night and also the traveling attendance trophy. So come out and enjoy a great night of fellowship and singing.

Pendleton County Youth Fair

Mrs. Pendleton County and Mrs. Licking River Pageant
Monday, July 5

Mrs. Pendleton County will be awarded to a county contestant.

Mrs. Licking River will be awarded to an out-of county contestant.

Both winners will be eligible to compete in the 2011 Mrs. Kentucky Pageant and will receive the following awards: official crown and sash, payment of application fee to the Mrs. Kentucky Pageant, trophy award and flowers.

The pageants will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 5. Entry fee is $75. Swimsuit may be a one or two piece, and evening gown should be full length. For the interview held immediately prior to the pageant, attire should be a suit or business style dress.

Pageants will take place at the Pendleton County Fair-grounds, 300 Woodson Road, Falmouth.

The practice time and date is 2:30-4 p.m. Saturday, July 3. Practice is not mandatory. However, you must contact the director prior to July 3 to make arrangements for receipt of the entry form and entry fee.If you are unable to attend practice, you will be given the opportunity to complete a "walk through" on the stage prior to the pageant.

Campbell County Conservation District Supervisors meeting

Supervisors of the Campbell County Conservation District will meet at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the Campbell County Conservation Office, 835 E. Main St., Suite 104, Alexandria. The public is encouraged and invited to attend.


Concealed deadly weapon class
Monday, July 26 - Tuesday, July 27

The Pendleton Sheriff's Department will be offering a concealed deadly weapon class. The class will be split into two evenings from 5:30-8 p.m. each, Monday, July 26 and Tuesday, July 27 in the basement of the Falmouth Baptist Church at 403 Maple Avenue, Falmouth. Butler Festival
Friday, August 13 - Saturday, August 14

Come one and all to the Butler Festival. Plans are set for 5-11 p.m. August 13-14, 2010.

Some of the features will be a Friday Night Car Show, silent auction, cake auction, live music, games, rides, raffles, food, crafts, antiques, prizes and much more. There will be fun activities for all ages. Watch The Falmouth Outlook for future announcements.


Grant's Lick Baptist Church will host Sermon On The Mount

Friday and Saturday's presentation will be held 7-9 p.m. at M & B Racking Ridge Farm, 431 Thomas Road, Foster, KY.

Dr. Lew Sterrett will demonstrate relationship principlesusing horses in various stages of training. Lew will speak at Grant's Lick Baptist Church Sunday morning at 11 a.m., followed by lunch. This is an admission free, rain or shine weekend!
